Introduction
:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:

Hello, I am JamJarNess. This is my first guide I’ve ever written.
Hopefully you will enjoy this guide. Writing this took me a while, and
I have talked to people for information as well. I also used parts of
basilmarket.com’s guides without permission. There was no email address
I can ask permission from. I am a level 33 page that got bored of Maple
Story and decided to look up a lot of guides. Now usually you don’t
trust a level 33 with a guide this big, but you’re just going to have
to trust me. If you want to contact me, please contact me with the
following ways:

email - holyjamjar@yahoo.com
AIM – XD someone fart

You can also ask some of my resources questions as well. Remember, I’m
only level 33 so I cannot answer many of your questions regarding the
second and third. So, don’t expect me to answer everything. A few
things before emailing me though. Email me only comments, mistakes,
suggestions, information you want to add, FAQs, or anything else
related to this guide. Do not email me hate mail, but if you cannot
restrain yourself and your evil side of you breaks through, that sucks
for me. Yeah and one more thing, another guide proposed that he got
some viruses from one of his emails, let’s not send virus emails to me
okay? Thank you.

About the use of this guide, ask one of my resources or me if you can
post it on your site. I will usually give you permission. If you want
to add something and I let you, you will get full credit. This guide is
not to be used on another site without my permission. If you do I will
do everything in my power... which I have none... to stop you. Just for
your information at the moment, I may not be able to do much, but
anything posted on GameFAQs is considered copyrighted © so if you try
something funny, you’re going to be in trouble... This guide is
available on the following sites:

GameFAQs.com
Gamerstemple.com
Neoseeker.com

If you wish to add it onto your site, please email me at the email
above. And also, please give credit to me. Thank you for your
cooperation. Now onto the guide!

Another thing to note is the skip to your section shortcut. If you look
closely at the table of contents, you will notice that some of them
have letters after them. Press ctrl + f and then type in the word you
see near it to get there quickly. For instance, to go to page, you
would type in (PWG) inside the find menu and after clicking enter two
or three times, you would get there.

:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:
The FAQs
:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:

Okay so if you notice inside the table of contents, I have FAQs for
nearly every section for the jobs. I have the warrior FAQ, fighter FAQ,
page FAQ, spearman FAQ, crusader FAQ, white knight FAQ, dragon knight
FAQ, and the general FAQ. However, when you scroll down to view the
FAQs, you will see that it is blank and you need to email them to me.

This is the idea, I know that I knock many FAQs that some of you might
ask. However, I feel that you guys have your own FAQ that isn’t listed
in other guides. This guide’s FAQ lets you email the question to me,
and I will answer it on the correct FAQ section (you get full credit).
If you have a specific section, for instance the fighter FAQ, I will
post it in there, but please tell me the section to make my life
easier.

I also have a general section which is used for things not related for
the warrior. On example could be why Maple Story is called Maple Story.
FAQ types that I will not except are questions that can be found inside
my guide, questions about something other than Maple Story, and
questions that relate to other classes (i.e. How should I distribute
points for a magician?). One question relating to other classes that is
acceptable is in what way are magicians better than warriors? You
should get the idea.

After you read this guide, please send a thank you for helping create
this guide to supermarth64@gmail.com and btl_ace@yahoo.com. They have
helped me so much it’s not even funny. Once again I apologize to
Julian, but next time leave an email so I can use part of your guide. I
checked a few times and I’m sure there’s none of that legal stuff. I’m
sorry if I took information from your guide, but I am also giving
credit to you. I give credit to the following people:

JamJarNess (holyjamjar@yahoo.com), Bao Ly (btl_ace@yahoo.com), Richard
Dong (supermarth64@gmail.com), Julian from basil’s page guide
(unknown), HelzLance (djt3@adelphia.net), hidden-street.net (no email),
and hopefully more to come!

Say an extreme thank you to Richard Dong because he asked for more
credit and he has made a new version of this guide with his criticisms.

Maple Story
:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:

Maple Story is an anime 2D MMORPG (massive multiplayer online role
playing game). It is probably the only anime 2D MMORPG out there.
Moving forward I believe some people say Maple Story as MapleStory,
like on GameFAQs. Either way is fine. Now if Maple Story is the first
game you have ever played, you may want to know some information before
starting your character. First off, in the realm of MMORPG, we have
these “abbreviations” that allow us to type fast and communicate
extremely quickly. Actually if you are old to this, this may help you
to. I know a lot.

There are more, but now I want to talk about the concept of noob. There
are three versions of noob: newb, noob, and nub. Noob means someone who
thinks he’s really good, but makes idol threats and is actually not
that great. Newb is someone who is new at something, and nub is just an
idiot. Hopefully this won’t confuse you, and if you see someone calling
you the wrong one... help them :)!

In case you do not know what aggro means, it means luring monsters.
Like when you attack a monster, you aggro it because it is following
you. There are a lot of commands in Maple Story as well, I’ll list some
over here. Let me use DuraKnight as the character

/trade DuraKnight = trade with DuraKnight
/partyinvite DuraKnight = party DuraKnight (may be wrong)

Well those are the ones I use... but if you have more email them to me.
Party invite I am not sure of, but trade is definitely right.

If you have any questions on general info, I will be making a general
info FAQ at the end of the guide.

To download Maple Story, go to the download page on Maple Sea or Maple
Global. I play Maple Global so I can explain it. First off, it is
changed to nexon.net so go to there instead. Then click on Maple Story.
On the top of the page should be a download area, click on it. There
are two ways of downloading it. Through .exe and through .rar. RAR
format needs you to use another program called WinRAR to install it and
stuff. However, it takes half the time than EXE. RAR files are separate
files and you may need to keep watch of them downloading. The good
thing is each one is only 2 min. and you can do them two at a time that
means it only takes about 20 min. to download. EXE format is easy.
Click on it and after about 45 min. it will be finished. The good thing
is that you don’t have to do anything, the bad thing is it takes
longer.

Once you are finished downloading, right click on start and hit
explore. It should be downloaded in D:\Program Files or C:\Program
Files. Click it and then it should start installing. After about a few
minutes you should be done. An icon should pop up on your desktop. It
should say Maple Story. You are now finished with your download.

Starting Your Character
:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:

If you are already a warrior and do not have these following stat
points:

Str: *
Dex: *
Int: 4 or 5
Luk: 4 or 5

I kindly ask you to restart your character. It is recommended to have
either 4 or 5 in int and luk because if you don’t, you might not have
enough points for equipment. If you are just starting Maple Story and
if you want to create a warrior, start by pressing the create character
button. You should see your character in the middle. You can modify its
skin tone, eyes, hair, and hair color. You will only get a few choices.
To have more choices, you have to buy nx cash, use it on a hair salon
or cosmetics coupon from the cash shop in game, and use that in a hair
salon or cosmetics store.

To buy nx cash, simply go to the website and buy it. Now onto your
stats. You will see near your stats a dice. Click on the dice to
“reroll” your stats. If you are patient try getting a 4 and a 4 in luk
and in int. If you aren’t, you can try for a 5 and a 5. But remember,
both of them added together have to be at the most 10. So technically
they can be 6 and 4. In my opinion a 4 and 5 is probably the best okay
choice. This is what you should end up with.

Str: *
Dex: *
Int: 4 or 5
Luk: 4 or 5

Star can be any number you want. The most recommended weapon right now
is the club because after tests it does the most damage. If you don’t
want a bad looking weapon, use an axe because its damage while slashing
is greater than the sword. Speaking of weapons let’s go over some of
the basics.

Sword is the most averaged damage. That means it can do very steady
damage. Axes are good at slashing but have their stab attack isn’t that
great. A blunt weapon, such as the club, does high slash damage like
the axe, but has a low stab attack like axes. Spears are good when
stabbing, and pole arms are good at slashing. Spears are swords on a
stick and polearms are an axe or blunt weapon on a stick. Both spear
and polearms are pretty slow.

Now you are on Tutorial Island (AKA Maple Island). A good idea is to do
the quests. Even the very easy ones. This is because it gives you easy
experience. On this island you will learn how to move and attack and
the basic controls. After finishing all of the quests, you should be
around level 7 probably? Keep training on red snails, blue snails, and
green snails. At level 9 it is still recommended to train on the
island. If you think your ready, you can head over to Victoria Island.
First thing you do is talk to Olaf. He will give you a quest that gives
you 300 exp when you talk to Dances with Barlog. This won’t be able to
level you though. Walk around and kill stuff, eventually you should
reach Perion. Finish the quest and become a warrior. If you need help
with a beginner stat guide, use the one below.

First put all your points into str until you get 35. This will ensure
that you will be able to become a warrior. Then make dex twice your
level. So at level 10 your dex should be 20 and the rest into str. Dex
should be twice your level so you will be able to wear items. When you
reach Victoria Island by crossing over from the boat, you can take a
taxi to get to Perion (the warrior city) quickly, or you can take a
long road for some more experience points. When taking the long road,
please note to go the Henesys way. The reason is because the other way
has harder monsters that may kill a beginner like you. Another warning,
do not take short cuts through the dungeon; the dungeon is very hard
for a level 10. After a while you should reach Ellinia, keep going and
you should eventually reach Perion. Walk to the very top and go inside
the door. On the far side there should be a man sitting that is named
Dances with Barlog (or something like that). Talk to him and become a
warrior. Congratulations!

:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:
Beginner Skills and Skills Allocation
:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:

Three Snails (Master Level: 3)
Hurls snail shells to attack monsters from a long distance.
Level 1: Snail Shell -1, MP -10, Damage 10
Level 2: Blue Snail Shell -1, MP -15, Damage 25
Level 3: Red Snail Shell -1, MP -20, Damage 40

Recovery (Master Level: 3)
Enables the user to recover hp constantly for 30 seconds
(Terms between skills: 10 minutes)
Level 1: MP -10, Recover Hp 24 in 30 seconds
Level 2: MP -20, Recover Hp 48 in 30 seconds
Level 3: MP -30, Recover Hp 72 in 30 seconds

Nimble Feet (Master Level: 3)
Enables the character to move around quickly for a short amount of time
(Terms between skills: 15 minutes)
Level 1: MP -10, Speed +10 for 4 seconds
Level 2: MP -15, Speed +15 for 8 seconds
Level 3: MP -20, Speed +20 for 12 seconds

In my opinion, these skills all suck. Three snails sucks because you
are hurling snail shells that never miss. They may do 40 damage but you
can do 40 damage at level 10 as well. The good thing is that three
snails always hit which will give you an advantage above monsters.
Still you’re using mp which you don’t have. Another reason is because
you have to keep killing red snails for their shells Recovery helps you
recover some health in 72 seconds. But you have a chair that recovers
50 per 10 seconds. Nimble can help you get around quickly, but with a
time limit of 12 seconds and a 15 min. recharge time... will it really
help? I would choose nimble and recovery because recovery can heal you
while you fight and nimble can let you run away if things aren’t going
your way.

Skill Build:

1 Recovery
2 Recovery
3 Recovery (Maxed)
1 Nimble Feet
2 Nimble Feet
3 Nimble Feet (Maxed)

3 Nimble Feet (Maxed)
3 Recovery (Maxed)
0 Three Snails (Not Maxed)

Richard Dong said that you can do 3 snails instead of recovery because
recovery isn’t going to help you when you are higher levels. Imagine
it, a level 11 at gate keepers. I said he’ll die before he even got
there.

This build idea and info supplied by Bao Ly.

:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:
The Warrior (WWG)
:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:

The warrior is a melee fighter that uses powerful close up range
attacks to invoke a lot of damage. They are not a weak class, but only
start showing their potential during the third and fourth jobs. During
the first and second jobs you will get KSed a lot, level slower, and
might not get as much money as them, but when you reach the third job,
they’re going to stare in awe while YOU rack up some uber damage.

During your warrior playing, please keep in mind of all the weapons you
have access to. While you currently don’t need to make a serious
choice, the best weapons at the moment would be a medium or fast speed
weapon. One main reason is because of the long range weapon’s unstable
damage. Another reason is because slow weapons without booster attack
really slow, which would make you think that spears, polearms, and some
blunt weapons stink. This is not actually the case.

During the second job, these weapons could be the hardest hitters and
would balance out sword and axe. Of course, you don’t have to quit
using axe and swords. I just feel it isn’t worth it using BW, polearms,
and spears during the first job because of their slowness. However, I
will explain a trick that may decrease the slowness and maybe increase
evasion. This may work with sword and axes as well.

Over the months I started, I noticed that assassins have two ways of
attacking. One way is where they jump and shoot stars. The stars shoot
down at an angle like this / or \. I have also noticed another way,
where the stars shoot from the ground when the person is jumping like
this _. Why can the person jump and shoot from the ground at the same
time? It is because he/she is using a jump + attack method.

Usually people would jump and attack and do a normal jump attack.
However, a glitch in the game has occurred and you can jump and attack
at the same time. To do it, press the jump and attack button at the
exact same time. You should be jump in the air, but your attack will
hit the enemy on the ground. If you have haste that means you can jump
and attack a ground enemy at the same time while jumping over the enemy
with ease. You won’t have to time your jump attack correctly anymore.
The attack will always hit enemies on the ground.

However there’s a catch. When you perform this move, it will hit only
ground enemies and not air enemies. This is opposite of the normal one.
The good things are that you might be able to evade enemies and you
will hit faster. The reason you attack faster is because of your
jumping speed. If you can do one jump attack per second, that means you
can jump + attack per second, increasing some weapon’s speeds
dramatically. Vise versa, if you have a very low jump, then you can
attack faster. I definitely would not recommend this when you are
fighting larger monsters like Yetis. Although this can help you attack
fast, it might mess up your concentration. Besides, booster might be
just as fast.

I only advise this trick to people who are using BW, spear, and polearm
in the first job. Still if you are using sword or axe, this can still
be helpful. This may not be useful because in the second job and third
job you have booster and the enemy is way too big to be hit. One last
note on this trick. You can use a skill with jump at the same time too.
There’s also the problem with knock back. Since you are jumping over
the enemy and hitting at the same time, the monster usually will be
knocked back. If this happens you may be hit. However, since you are
usually going to be one hit killing monsters, this won’t be the case.

:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:
Warrior 1. Stat Allocation
:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:

As I have explained earlier in the Start Your Character guide, you
should use the dex = x2 your level and rest into strength build. This
is a simple diagram of what your stats are at certain levels. (Note:
str is * because you may have started out with 4 or 5)

Level 10:
Str: *
Dex: 20
Int: 4 or 5
Luk: 4 or 5

Level 20:
Str: *
Dex: 40
Int: 4 or 5
Luk: 4 or 5

Level 30:
Str: *
Dex: 60
Int: 4 or 5
Luk: 4 or 5

You will want to have double your level dex because you will need it
for armor. Some say that you need dex for hitting enemies which is
true. But I say that having more attack is way better than being able
to hit something. Besides, able to hit something doesn’t always count
on your dex. It also counts on your level. So if your dex is okay and
your level is okay you can hit monsters. Just trust me. There is also
way where you have absurdly high damage during the 1st job, but you
have low dex and not that great armor. Still, don’t worry, you will
have enough dex for the second job. To do this method, put everything
into strength until a certain level, then put everything into dex.

Let us say you have 35 str and 25 dex at level 10. Put everything into
str until you are level 24. Once you reach 24, put everything into dex.
By using this method you will have a lot of attack, however, you will
have extremely unstable damage. Still, all warriors suffer from this
and dex barely helps with the unstable problem. This way will help you
train quickly, but it might burn a hole in your bank with all the pots
you use. But hey, warriors only show their potential in the 3rd and 4th
job, GET THERE QUICKLY!!!

One question some people ask is for hp and mp. You can add points into
hp and mp but I think it is useless. Hp and mp waste your points for
armor you might need. Although putting points into mp gives you better
mp, you don’t need a lot of mp to stay alive and you could use that for
armor points. Hp is another matter. A basil user posted an hp build.
Where you put points into power guard, put everything into hp and just
charge at the enemy. The enemy will receive 40% of whatever damage you
receive, and all a cleric has to do is heal you.

I really think this is ridiculous and a waste of time. You will have 35
str for about 40 levels until your power guard is strong enough... Do
you think it’s worth it? Now we come to another thing. Pure warriors.
Pure warriors do the most damage and do so much damage it’s not even
funny. A level 100 dragon knight can hit 30k if he is pure. However,
one major downside is the funding. I am not a big supporter of pures.
Maybe in a couple of years I’ll make one. Still though, consult another
guide for a pure warrior guide, I can’t help you here.

:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:
Warrior 2. Skills
:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:

Improving HP Recovery (Master Level: 16)

With this, you'll recover even more HP every 10 seconds while standing
still.

Level 1: Recover additional +3 HP
Level 9: Recover additional +27 HP
Level 16: Recover additional +50 HP

Improving HP Recovery is not very useful because since you will be
battling all the time, you should not have to wait like one minute to
heal all of your hp. I’d recommend buying pots. If you need help
deciding how much pots you want to buy, refer to the tips section. The
only reason I’d get 5 into Improving HP Recovery is to get Improving
Max Hp Increase.

Richard Dong: This skill SUCKS. Why would you want to stand around
doing nothing to see your hp go up a little bit?

Improving Max HP Increase (Master Level: 10)

When having a Level Up, if AP is used on Max HP, it raises the level of
increase for Max HP

Level 1: After every level up, 4 Max HP will be added; if AP is used,
3 additional HP will be added.
Level 6: After every level up, 24 Max HP will be added; if AP is used,
18 additional HP will be added.
Level 10: After every level up, 40 Max HP will be added; if AP is used,
30 additional HP will be added.

The golden skill of all warriors. Even if you do not have points into
hp, you will still get a bonus for health each level. Try to max this
out immediately.

Endure (Master Level: 8)

Even when hanging on the rope or ladder, you'll be able to recover some
HP after a certain amount of time.

Level 1: Recover HP every 31 seconds
Level 5: Recover HP every 19 seconds
Level 8: Recover HP every 10 seconds

Not very useful because you are going to battle not lying on a rope.
Endure heals lesser than hp recovery but chances are that a rope is
safer than a ledge with monsters spawning. I’d recommend this more than
hp recovery because of this.

Iron Body (Master Level: 20)

Temporarily increases your weapon defense.

Level 1: MP -8; Weapon def. +2 for 75 seconds.
Level 11: MP -11; Weapon def. +22 for 190 seconds.
Level 20: MP -15; Weapon def. +40 for 300 seconds.

This skill is not very useful in the later levels so I wouldn’t
recommend getting it. You have more important skills to max out or try
to max out than this skill.

Power Strike (Master Level: 20)

Use MP to deliver a killer blow to the monsters with a sword.

Level 1: MP -4; Sword damage 114%
Level 11: MP -7; Sword damage 186%
Level 20: MP -12; Sword damage 260%

Your main attack skill. Max this out right after you have maxed out
improving max hp. 12 mp isn’t a lot and is perfect for your small mana
bar. If you are a crusader or a white knight, you will stick with this
through the 3rd job.

Slash Blast (Master Level: 20)

Use HP and MP to attack every enemy around you with a sword.

Level 1: MP -6; HP -8, damage 57%
Level 11: MP -9; HP -11, damage 93%
Level 20: MP -14; HP -16, damage 130%

Your mob skill. It does decent damage with 130% at max, but it costs
way more than mp and hp than power strike. You don’t have to get it if
you are deciding to become a dragon knight because dragon knight has a
lot of mob skills already. Still, get it to level 13 at least so you
have 100% for slash blast. You can also get it maxed out if you want
because it is a long while away before you reach your third job. You
might even quit in between. For white knights and crusaders definitely
a need.

Warrior 3. Skills Allocation
:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:

The idea of this build is to allow you to save a few pots in exchange
for lesser damage with their slash blast. It is most recommended for
dragon knights going-to-be’s because they are going to use other mob
skills when they become one.

16 HP Recover (Maxed)
10 Max HP (Maxed)
20 Power Strike (Maxed)

2 Endure (Not Maxed)

Advantages:
-saves pots by healing on a ledge or a rope
-you can heal on a ledge or rope while you are away
-can heal on a rope
-can heal on a ledge
-important skills all maxed out
-slash blast is at 100%

Disadvantages:
-slash blast not maxed out
-need to spend time healing on rope or ledge

This next build emphasizes more on maxing out your attack skills so you
will be able to do more damage. However, you will not have a high hp
recovery, meaning you cannot heal as well on a ledge. This is more of a
pot using build.

Advantages:
-puts points into slash blast for faster leveling
-maxed out everything except the healing skills
-more damage with slash blast
-faster leveling than optional

Disadvantages:
-loses more money than the optional build
-more of a pot using build
-pots aren’t bad, but they aren’t cheap

As you can see using this build might be better than the first because
you have the attack builds maxed out. Potions can become a problem, but
move onto the tip section later and I’ll help you manage your money.

Another option you can do is max out power strike first for more damage
than go into slash blast. Slower leveling but more damage. Now this is
where this skill build creator and I differ. I say to just put in 1
endure so you can go afk and heal slowly. But he says 3 which are fine
but I’d rather just put in one and put the rest into hp recovery for a
less use of pots. Another method is getting 10 power strike, 10 slash
blast, 10 more power strike, then 10 more slash blast. This way you
will have them both maxed out in the end, but not fall behind greatly
in training speed.

Richard Dong: If you have pots to spare (alt account or something) get
max slash blast first, or else just stay with yours. Do not put points
into hp recovery once you have 5, put it in endure (for healing on
rope) or iron body for show.

These 2 skill builds were supplied by Richard Dong and HelzLance.
Comments, however, we mainly by me.

Warrior 4. Training
:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:

Since you are going to become a beginner first, let me explain the
training from a beginner. First, the golden rule (IMO), is to do all
the quests you can until you get your first job. They give you easy
exp. Some give you weapons or armor, and I’ll give you tips later on
for this. For normal training follow this guide below.

Levels 1-10

Train on Tutorial Island. Hunt especially where there are red snails
and blue snails. If you think you’re up for the challenge, hunt the
orange mushrooms.

Levels 11-14

Finally a warrior, congratulations! Now you have several places to
train. I highly recommend Mushroom Park, but if you don’t know that
hidden street, you should train in the slime tree near Ellinia or the
map left of Henesys.

I recommend slime tree because there are a lot of slimes and usually it
isn’t very crowded. Ask someone for help in Ellinia if you can’t find
it. There is another slime tree two maps right of Ellinia. I would also
recommend this if you are being KSed in the left slime tree. When you
feel you are ready, head over to the left of Henesys. In here, you
should battle the orange mushrooms. It sometimes is crowded, so switch
worlds or head back to the slime trees.

Levels 15-19

Now you have a number of options. You can stay in the slime trees which
will give you a nice steady of experience points, but if you think you
are ready, try going to Pig’s Beach. If you do not know where it is,
ask someone to help you. I recommend asking in Henesys instead of Lith
Harbor because Lith has a lot of beginners.

Now you have a few choices, you can either spend a bit of money for
pots, or use up more time by healing. You might say that there is only
a rope to heal onto when you are fighting, but there is also the ledge
you start on to help you. To get back to the ledge, enter the cash shop
then exit it. Another way is switching to another channel and then
switching back. Since you have 5 points in hp recovery, you can heal on
the ledge for about 30 points. I recommend Pig’s Beach for the last
levels of 15-19. Preferably 17, 18, and 19. This is because your power
strike or slash blast may be too weak for the monsters.

Levels 20-24

Getting to level 20 gives you a bunch of new options for training. You
can either go to PQ or hunt some harder monsters. If you decide to PQ,
I wouldn’t recommend it if you are in the low 20s. The reason is
because inside Kerning PQ, it is common for warriors not to get in.
This is because most monsters inside are better off being ranged rather
than being meleed. Another reason is the lack of damage. Warriors do
not have great damage during 20-30. They only do anything above 250
periodically. Plus they have to run up and attack, letting you be KSed.
Another reason not to PQ is because it usually will be jammed. I also
don’t recommend PQ because it is not that great exp considering you
have to fight or use hacks to get in. Still, PQ is fun if you get in,
if only for the first 5 times you try it.

If you do not want to PQ, try fighting green and horny mushrooms three
maps from Ellinia. They are close to the slime tree. It’s the most
right tree in the area. Although there may be other people sharing the
area, it is still good experience. If you don’t want to use this tree,
there is also another tree three maps right of Ellinia. This tree has
about the same amount of green and horny mushrooms. I like this place
better because there are usually less people. Now, if you think you can
take on hard enemies or you can afford lots of pots, try going to the
dungeon. The zombie mushrooms and horny mushrooms may be pretty hard,
but with a decent party and a maxed out slash blast and power strike,
it is very profitable.

Levels 25-29

Almost there! Now you are more picked in PQ because of your uber hot
armor and your higher level. I don’t recommend PQ still because you
will get more exp by training. Speaking about training, it’s about time
for you to go into the dungeon. One basic tactic is to create a party
or join another person’s party. The bigger the better IMO because you
get more shared exp from characters. You still won’t be able to kill a
zombie mushroom effectively but having party members is a big plus. One
favored class at this time would probably be a low leveled cleric. They
have heal which is extremely useful, and they do decent enough damage
on zombie mushrooms and are very helpful.

Another big plus is that in the dungeon there are Level 30+ training
there. All of them are pretty strong compared to you. If you party with
one then leveling should be easier than before. One thing though when
you are partying them. The closer the level they are to you, the more
exp you will earn. If they are 10 levels away from you, then you
probably shouldn’t party them. If they are 5 levels or below, it is
probably a good choice to party them. Also, keep in mind the higher
level you are the more exp you take away. So if you are a level 29
partying a level 24 mage, you would get more exp, which is good. To see
if you are getting good exp, combine the share exp with the exp you
earn where you kill a monster. If both added up and are better than you
killing a monster by yourself, it is good. If it is less, departy some
of the higher leveled people.

:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:
Warrior 5. Tips
:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:

One important tip I have to give out is how to manage your money. My
old guild leader (who kicked me out), explained a nice way to earn and
use money for pots. Let us say you earn 50k whilst battling enemies.
Divide that number by half, which is 25k. You now save 25k and want to
use 25k. Use this money on orange pots and blue pots.

If you want to though, you could also use a white pot. White pots heal
more at the expanse of a bit more money, which doesn’t really matter.
You do not want to use a mana elixir because mana elixirs cost way way
more money than a blue pot. A good amount of pots for now is 50 blue
pots and 30 white pots. 150 x 50 = 7,500 and 30 x 330 = 9,900. 9,900 +
7,500 = 17,400. That means you will have about 8k left over. So in your
bank you have saved 33k from your 50k while battling. You can use this
method or you can change some of the numbers in this method. For
instance, if you want to save up some more money because you bought
some stuff before, use 1/3 instead of 1/2 of your money. You also don’t
have to use 30 white pots and 50 blue pots.

A great tip is controlling your anger. Don’t get angry; instead try to
move yourself around the situation. If someone doesn’t want you to
train with them and tells you to change channels, tell him that you
want to party because partying is beneficial. If he says no, tell him
why it is beneficial. If he still declines then leave. The only reason
I would not want to leave is if you already have a party there. I can’t
really explain how to control your anger, but just not to get angry
with him.

If you do you might get defamed and reported. One time I upsetted
someone so much he spammed to the whole world that I was a... let’s not
go that far. Anyways, just try to keep your cool, if you don’t, things
could lead to much worse situations. Also, try to restrain yourself
from commenting on what a person is doing. If you tell them that mages
suck and WTH are you being one, they can’t help themselves, but get
angry. They’ll KS you more often and well they’ll kick your butt. You
are of no match to mages at the moment, just leave them be. It would be
beneficial, however, to party him.

Another tip is the jump + attack movement. If you want to read it,
please go up to the warrior section and read the second half where I
explain the weapons and how to increase speed while in the first job.
Right now, I’ll explain items you should get. Besides getting your
basic armor and your choice of weapon, you have choices of getting
other stuff as well.

One example is the snow board. Snow boards are often for collecting and
make you look cool, but I don’t recommend you getting one or two or
three. The reason is because snow boards are very expensive to someone
like you. You don’t make lots of money and spending some could be
harmful to your bank and your pot using. If you use hp recovery, you
could save some pots; however, this will lead to leveling slower which
is not a good thing. Right now I would recommend you only to buy these
items after you get your second jobs.

Do the jump quests. They may be hard, but they train your anger and
hatred. They also give equipment rewards. Very helpful they are both
for the mind and body.

Many of you might not have heard of these sites, but they will help
you. I will give a brief description of each site.

basilmarket.com – your Maple Story eBay, buy everything from stars to
gloves. One downside is that if you are going to sell for a high
amount, good luck. One big plus is its other features. They have
guides, videos, weapons and armor info, and lots more.

hidden-street.net – helps you in everything for information. They have
a lot of information in guides and they also have damage calculators.
One feature they are famous for hidden streets (duh). They also have a
ton of other features like guide invitations and stuff like that.

mapletip.com – some basic information, not that great, but is easy to
understand and is great for beginners.

maplewiki.com – the only reason I use this is for its 4th job
information that I look at from time to time. Anything else... isn’t
that great.

mapleglobal.com – what do you know? Maple global is horribly outdated,
but gives you really basic information.

GameFAQs.com – THE place to get your guides and other info. They have
warrior, mage, thief, archer, cash shop, items, monsters, and many
more guides. If you want to learn about a job thoroughly use this
place’s guides.

google.com – not so much info because it’s very wide spread. Still a
great bonus for your info.

Warrior 6. Picking Your Second Job
:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:

If you already know what job you want, skip this part, but I will
explain a bit about what the second jobs and parts of the third jobs
do. The three jobs are fighter, page, and spearman. A fighter becomes a
crusader, a page becomes a white knight, and a spearman becomes a
dragon knight.

The main difference is the weapons they use. A fighter uses a sword or
an axe. A page uses a BW or a sword. A spearman uses a polearm or a
spear. I will go into further details with the job classes in their own
section, but I will explain what the jobs mainly do.

The fighter is the basic one versus one tank. They have power guard
which reduces damage and reflects and they have rage which increases
weapon attack and decreases weapon defense. The page is a defensive
class. It uses threaten to lower enemy defense by a percent and use
power guard to reduce and reflect damage. Spearmen use boosts instead
of normal skills. They can boost defense, mp, and hp for a certain
amount of time.

Where the jobs show much difference is in the third job. In the third
job, a crusader is your classic one versus one tank and killer. They
can charge up their weapon and when it reaches a certain level,
releases a very powerful strike. The crusader also has an area stun
skill. The good thing it won’t stun you like the dragon knight one.

The White Knight is your paladin or also known as mage knight. A mage
knight imbues infinities such as fire and ice into your blade. An enemy
that is weak against the element will get damaged more. Likewise an
enemy that is strong against that element won’t get damaged that much.
In addition the white knight gets a skill that mobs and has a chance to
stun. T

he dragon knight is the mobber. Although they mob, the dragon knight
still does pretty decent damage. However, many of the dragon knight’s
skills cost hp. To train effectively you will need a priest or cleric.
Against the other two classes, you will not be as strong against a
monster one versus one. The dragon knight has the coolest, but most
costing move known as dragon roar. Still, dragon knights are very
strong.

If you’re looking for super cool and super damage go for crusader. If
you’re looking for a mage hybrid or the most versatile (because of ice
and lesser defense skill) go for white knight. If you’re looking for a
mobbing, decent damage, and the coolest move in the whole game (up
until now) go for dragon knight.

Once you have reached level 30, head back to Dances With Barlog. He
should say something that is like wow you’ve gotten more powerful. He
will give you a letter which you will need to give to this extremely
muscular person. I believe to get there you must travel 3 maps left of
Perion, and keep going up the map. Soon you will see a muscular guy. He
will teleport you to this map. Inside are fire boars and lupins (monkey
dudes that throw bananas). Normally you wouldn’t train on these things,
but you have to. The good thing is that each of them has reduced hp and
possibly damage I forgot. If you kill one, you receive no exp, but it
might drop a black marble. Once you pick up 30, head back to Dances
with Barlog and receive your job advancement. Pick fighter, page, or
spearman.

The Fighter (FWG)
:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:

Bao Ly’s fighter/crusader guide has helped me form my own

The fighter is probably the fastest in terms of training. This is
because they have two skills that are very helpful. Rage, a popular
party skill, increases weapon attack but lowers weapon defense.
However, it is still extremely useful because in exchange for five
damage you are able to do hundreds of more damage. In addition you have
the skill power guard. When you use power guard, damage is reflected
back onto the enemy. At maxed I believe it is 40%. This means that the
monster will get hit 40% of the damage it did to you. This is a big pot
saver and it helps as temporary armor as well.

The fighter using these two skills, will be able to have great attack
and also have great defense. In addition a fighter can pick a sword or
axe. Most people go sword and rarely any go axe. However, in my opinion
both are good. The thing to watch out for is that sword is much more
expensive than axe. Now you have a choice of using two handed or one
handed. One handed is very week. A 70 att one hand is weaker than a 60
att two hand. Why? This is because the damage calculations are
different. If you want more damage, possibly way more damage, choose
two hand. However keep in mind the disadvantages. A two handed weapon
is a bit slower. A one handed weapon is faster. A one handed weapon is
weaker, but you can carry a shield.

:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:
Fighter Stats Allocation
:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:

Bao Ly does not have this inside his guide. But I will make one. For
the moment, I believe the dex a high leveled warrior needs is 80. As
long if you get 80 you should be fine. You can go 1 dex and 4 str per
level after you get your second job. This means you will get enough at
level 50. However, another method is to try and get your dex and str up
according to equipment.

If you are calculating beforehand, and you think that you will need
more strength, go ahead and put 5 str and 0 dex for a level. If you
think you are short on dex and need more, put some more dex instead of
str. However, do not put 5 into dex for four levels then leave it like
that. I assure you, this will be very bad. That means you won’t be able
to wear level 35 armor and possibly level 40 armor. This may not seem
bad, but it will leave a forever mark in your head. Also there may be
another problem. Because new items are being discovered, you may need
more dex than usual. If this happens, I advise you to quickly put the
needed dex in. This should be what you have:

Level 30:
Str: *
Dex: 60
Int: 4 or 5
Luk: 4 or 5

Level 40:
Str: *
Dex: 70
Int: 4 or 5
Luk: 4 or 5

Level 50:
Str: *
Dex: 80
Int: 4 or 5
Luk: 4 or 5

level 60:
Str: *
Dex: 80
Int: 4 or 5
Luk: 4 or 5

Although some of you might say that you will need dex to hit monsters,
I have explained earlier that accuracy is not totally based on your
dex. Some or most of it may be based on your level as well. That is why
you might not be able to hit a level 60 monster at level 50, but be
able to hit that monster at level 60 with the same dex.

Richard Dong: Get 80 into dex for equipment, then get dex armor, if
you’re heavily funded, you can get by with extremely low dex.

:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:
Fighter 2. Skills
:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:

Taken out from Bao Ly’s guide, comments by me.

[Sword Mastery]
Max level: 20
Requirements: none

Increases your minimum damage in sword.

Level 1: Sword Mastery 15%, accuracy +1
Level 10: Sword Mastery 35%, accuracy +10
Level 20: Sword Mastery 60%, accuracy +20

If you pick sword, get this to 19 quickly. The reason you don’t want to
get it to 20 is because you need to max out other skills as quickly as
possible. One point won’t kill you. Max it out near the end. Sword
Mastery improves only minimum damage, so having a sword makes you have
even greater accuracy.

[Axe Mastery]
Max level: 20
Requirements: none

Increases your minimum damage in axe.

Level 1: Axe Mastery 15%, accuracy +1
Level 10: Axe Mastery 35%, accuracy +10
Level 20: Axe Mastery 60%, accuracy +20

This is the same as sword mastery except it is axe mastery instead. Axe
mastery increases axe minimum damage. Since axes have bad damage with
stab, it is a great boost to have more accuracy. Get this to 19 as soon
as possible.

[Final Attack: Sword]
Max level: 30
Requirements: 3 in Sword Mastery

For every power strike and slash blast, there is a chance of a second
hit that is twice as fast, costs zero mp, and damages more.

Level 1: 2% success rate, final attack with sword damage 105%
Level 15: 30% success rate, final attack with sword damage 175%
Level 30: 60% success rate, final attack with sword damage 250%

When using a sword power strike or slash blast, there is a chance to
attack again with twice the speed and 250% more power. Although this
may seem great there’s a catch... or catches. First, this attack does
not always knock back and you will step forward. This means you
probably will get hit. Though, the enemy probably dies before you hit
it though. However, this will suck with bosses since it will really
hurt.

Another catch is that it only works with power strike and slash blast.
It does not work with many of the 3rd job skills. Then there’s another
catch. If this attack activates while using slash blast, the damage is
increased with the first monster you hit, then for every monster it
passes through it does lesser damage. There is a bonus though, it costs
no mp for final attack.

[Final Attack: Axe]
Max level: 30
Requirements: 3 in Axe Mastery
Level 1: 2% success rate, final attack with axe damage 105%
Level 15: 30% success rate, final attack with axe damage 175%
Level 30: 60% success rate, final attack with axe damage 250%

For every power strike and slash blast, there is a chance of a second
hit that is twice as fast, costs zero mp, and damages more.

The same as sword final attack, except for the fact that you probably
will do lesser damage with stab attacks. Some people choose not to get
final attack because of its catches. However, if you are playing
fighter, final attack is useful for some of the third jobs.

[Sword Booster]
Max level: 20
Requirements: 5 in Sword Mastery

Temporarily boost your speed in sword.

Level 1: HP -29, MP -29; Increase in sword speed for 10 seconds
Level 10: HP -20, MP -20; Increase in sword speed for 100 seconds
Level 20: HP -10, MP -10; Increase in sword speed for 200 seconds

Increases your speed of your weapon. I think when it is maxed out it
gives you one level of speed higher. So for instance it would go from
normal to fast or slow to normal.

[Axe Booster]
Max level: 20
Requirements: 5 in Axe Mastery

Temporarily boost your speed in axe.

Level 1: HP -29, MP -29; Increase in axe speed for 10 seconds
Level 10: HP -20, MP -20; Increase in axe speed for 100 seconds
Level 20: HP -10, MP -10; Increase in axe speed for 200 seconds

Probably more important than sword mastery because you will have to
rely on that 65% of slash damage to do higher damage. In Bao Ly’s guide
it states that slashes are 65% of the time and stabs are 35% of the
times. Other guides state it is 3:2 with slash being 3. With faster
speed you will be able to do more damage and also faster too, so this
is definitely a plus.

[Rage]
Max level: 20
Requirements: none

Increases weapon attack, but also decreases weapon defense.

Level 1: MP -12; Weapon attack +1, weapon defense -1 for 8 seconds
Level 10: MP -12; Weapon attack +5, weapon defense -5 for 80 seconds
Level 20: MP -24; Weapon attack +10, weapon defense -10 for 160 seconds

This is what makes a fighter different from a page. Fighters have rage.
Rage increases your attack and decreases your weapon defense. However,
you will receive little damage compared to the vast damage you can do.
This is a party friendly skill and that is why fighter levels the
fastest. It is because they have rage. Parties aim for rage for more
damage.

[Power Guard]
Max level: 30
Requirements: 3 in Rage

When power guard is turned on, some enemy damage is reflected back and
is received as damage.

No info for the level and effects
Help Contribute by emailing me at holyjamjar@yahoo.com

At maxed it helps reduce 40% damage and reflects it back. This means
you will be taking only 60% damage and the monster will hurt itself. A
guide once proposed the use of abusing this skill by just jumping into
the monster and letting your healer spam heal. Eventually the monster
will die because power guard is unblockable.

:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:
Fighter 3. Skills Allocation
:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:

Starting:

Level 30- 1 into [Weapon] Mastery
Level 31- 3 into [Weapon] Mastery (4)
Level 32- 3 into [Weapon] Mastery (7)
Level 33- 3 into [Weapon] Mastery (10)
Level 34- 3 into [Weapon] Mastery (13)
Level 35- 3 into [Weapon] Mastery (16)
Level 36- 3 into [Weapon] Mastery (19)

This is the very front part of the skill build that everyone agrees on.
Then there will be two different ways to go. One will be final attack
and one will be rage. Also, note how mastery has 19. As I have
explained earlier, you need to max out other skills first, you will be
able to max out mastery near the end of the second job.

Final Attack:

Richard Dong: You should put about 6 points into booster after final
attack so you will have faster speed. Also, because final attack may
slow down training speed and not be efficient until a decent level,
save up 15 points then put it in.

This build focuses mainly on you getting good damage. Getting final
attack first would mean good damage and then getting power guard would
mean good defense. This build may cause you to get into parties lesser,
but it would make up more if you told them you have the stronger skills
maxed out. Still, having rage maxed out first may allow you to get into
parties quickly and train a lot. One thing that disappoints is the lack
of booster. Booster can help increase attacks drastically, and since
this build focuses a lot on increasing attack, having more attack speed
counts.

This version focuses more on partying. Rage is a popular party skill
choice. It increases your attack no matter what job you are. Mages,
assassins, bandits, you name it. However, I find it strange to have so
many points into booster in the middle. I would rather just put 9 in
and then max out the rest in that order. This build is not final attack
friendly. Having final attack can help you level up quicker and save
money, usually anyways.

Fighter 5. FAQ
:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:

Please post questions to btl_ace@yahoo.com

:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:
The Page (PWG)
:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:

The page is probably the slowest leveling out of the three second jobs.
The boost skills they receive is threaten and power guard. Both alter
defense. Threaten decreases enemy’s defense by a certain amount. Power
Guard gives you a boost.

Richard Dong (supermarth64@gmail.com): Threaten is not such a good
skill because would you rather put in one more power strike, or put in
a threaten?

Pages can use two weapons, swords and BW. Swords do steady damage, and
the BW does massive slash, but bad stab damage. Many people choose
sword for the steady damage, but people also choose BW because of its
extreme damage, but slowness. Slowness and accuracy can be both boosted
by mastery and booster. Thus one could say that BW is better. It’s also
cheaper and has cheaper scrolls.

But ah, the catch. In the fourth job there is a skill called spirit and
a skill called sanctuary. Spirit always stabs and would benefit sword.
In addition holy stab does 550% damage and would definitely replace
your power strike. Sanctuary, on the other hand, does a massive 900%
damage! However, there is a time limit in which sanctuary needs to
recharge. Also sanctuary can only knock an enemy’s hp down to 1. So if
you think about it, BW and sword are pretty matched. Another thing that
is worth noting. Many people think imbues do not work with final
strikes. But I believe that is wrong. A guide posted earlier that has
influenced me becoming a page states that imbues do work on final
strikes. That means that final strike could be vital for 2nd, 3rd, and
possibly 4th job. I’m sorry BW pages for being bias, but I am a sword
page. (Sorry)

Now onto the page as a party. The page is not really a party player
because he does not have any party skills. Though he does decent
amounts of damage, he still might not get picked. However, having a few
friends could change a lot. Leveling to 70 will be a more pain than
fighters and spearman, but in the end you will be more awed upon than
the other classes because white knights are rarer and therefore unique.
Many people assume that white knights and pages stink. However,
according to many people, page and white knight are the most versatile
and they also are the most efficient trainer out of the three jobs.

This is because the crusader has unstable damage, and the dragon knight
relies on a cleric or priest to heal him. So don’t assume pages suck.
Now you have a choice of using two handed or one handed. One handed is
very week. A 70 att one hand is weaker than a 60 att two hand. Why?
This is because the damage calculations are different. If you want more
damage, possibly way more damage, choose two hand. However keep in mind
the disadvantages. A two handed weapon is a bit slower. A one handed
weapon is faster. A one handed weapon is weaker, but you can carry a
shield.

:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:
Page 1. Stats Allocation
:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:

Overall I don’t see much of pure pages. Though they would probably be
very strong, but I think a pure dragon knight would be better. So I
will use Julian from Basil to use for the stats allocation. Dex is not
very important because you will need it only for equipment. Though your
accuracy does increase per level, it is hardly worth it.

When you grow levels, each level probably gives you more accuracy than
5 dex points (I’m guessing O_O). Anyways we come down to the best armor
you can have which is 80 dex. 80 dex may not seem a lot to you, but
trust me it is enough to hit monsters. One quick note here, new
equipment might be founded or discovered so you might need to add more
dex to follow accordingly. Following Julian this should be your stats.

Level 30:
Str: *
Dex: 60
Int: 4 or 5
Luk: 4 or 5

Level 40:
Str: *
Dex: 60
Int: 4 or 5
Luk: 4 or 5

Level 50:
Str: *
Dex: 70
Int: 4 or 5
Luk: 4 or 5

Level 60~70:
Str: *
Dex: 80
Int: 4 or 5
Luk: 4 or 5

A few notes here. Julian kept the dex at 60 and kept boosting str
probably because you will need str the most in those levels. Also, if
you feel that you do not have enough accuracy and want more, you can
scroll your equipment with dex scrolls. Hopefully this will help. It is
better than putting AP into dex. This is because you will need the AP
for strength. If you think you are good to go with 80 dex, you should
add in strength scrolls for more damage.

Richard Dong: Get 80 into dex for equipment, then get dex armor, if
you’re heavily funded, you can get by with extremely low dex.

Page 2. Skills
:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:

[Sword Mastery]
Max level: 20
Requirements: none

Increases minimum damage for the sword.

Level 1: Sword Mastery 15%, accuracy +1
Level 10: Sword Mastery 35%, accuracy +10
Level 20: Sword Mastery 60%, accuracy +20

If you are going to go fourth job you should choose sword. It will be a
very long way off, and you might want to reconsider because you might
quit in between. It is very hard leveling after 100. Even so, some
facts might reconsider you using sword. Sword is the most balanced
weapon. Plus, most of them are faster than BW. With booster, most of
the swords have fast speed. BW usually only goes up to normal. So that
would mean that sword does more DoT (damage over time), since it is
faster.

Swords are expensive and sword scrolls are expensive. Also, since if
you max out sword mastery, your accuracy will increase even further,
which is very good. One thing about the sword though. Since you are
going to fight monsters that you can kill in a few blows, the blunt
weapons have higher chance of killing it than the sword. This is
because blunt weapons damage more, but hit slower. However, you can use
the slowness to boost you. If a BW hits 3 blows you can hit 4 blows or
maybe more, eventually it will even out. So if you think about it sword
and BW are pretty even.

[Blunt Weapon Mastery]
Max level: 20
Requirements: none

Increases minimum damage for blunt weapons.

Level 1: Blunt Weapon Mastery 15%, accuracy +1
Level 10: Blunt Weapon Mastery 35%, accuracy +10
Level 20: Blunt Weapon Mastery 60%, accuracy +20

Get this at once if you are a BW page. BW has a low minimum because its
stab damage isn’t that good. However, the BW’s slash output is very
high. The good thing is that the slash compared to stab is 3:2 giving a
good advantage. However, what are the chances of you going to hit
monsters more than a few times? That only happens higher up in the
advanced levels. That would mean your slash damage would be useless
since you are only going to hit a couple of times.

Since the BW has a higher damage starting off, it has much potential in
burst damage. Burst damage is in which you do damage in a short amount
of time, or also known as DPS (damage per second). Since blunt weapons
have high burst damage, their DPS is high. One thing though, because
blunt weapons are slower, when you land three blows on an enemy, a
sword may have already gotten four. Using this, this means that in the
end sword and blunt weapons even out. Each weapon is good and bad.

[Sword Booster]
Max level: 20
Requirements: 5 in Sword Mastery

Temporarily boost your sword’s attack speed.

Level 1: HP -29, MP -29; Increase in sword speed for 10 seconds
Level 10: HP -20, MP -20; Increase in sword speed for 100 seconds
Level 20: HP -10, MP -10; Increase in sword speed for 200 seconds

Although the sword is pretty fast, having more speed doesn’t hurt. This
is what separates you from the BW. More speed could even out the BW’s
damage. Also, if you have more speed, this could give you a big
advantage in your opponent’s knock back (KB). If the enemy is KBed and
recovers do you think it will hit you if you have fast speed? No of
course not! Having more speed could save a gash in your bank account
and might even save your life.

[BW Booster]
Max level: 20
Requirements: 5 in BW Mastery

Temporarily boost your blunt weapon’s attack speed.

Level 1: HP -29, MP -29; Increase in BW speed for 10 seconds
Level 10: HP -20, MP -20; Increase in BW speed for 100 seconds
Level 20: HP -10, MP -10; Increase in BW speed for 200 seconds

If you do not have this, good luck being a BW page. The BW is pretty
slow and unless you get booster you will remain slow forever. You can
use the jump + attack trick, but I don’t think it’s a great idea to use
that forever... Plus, as I have explained in the sword booster on top,
you can knock back the opponent more often which won’t allow him/her/it
to hit you. This could save lots of pots and your life!

[Final Attack: Sword]
Max level: 30
Requirements: 3 in BW Mastery

For every power strike and slash blast, there is a chance of a second
hit that is twice as fast, costs zero mp, and damages more.

Level 1: 2% success rate, final attack with sword damage 105%
Level 15: 30% success rate, final attack with sword damage 175%
Level 30: 60% success rate, final attack with sword damage 250%

This will help you a lot and even in the third job too. Many people say
that this FA (final attack) won’t work with imbues. That is incorrect,
imbues effect FA’s, power strikes, slash blasts, and normal attacks.
Another thing to watch out for is that FA does not knock back. Also,
you move forward when you use it. This means you might hit the enemy,
but the enemy has a higher chance of dying so you should be okay.
Another thing about FA, when it happens, it is twice as fast and does
pretty good damage, definitely useful.

[Final Attack: BW]
Max level: 30
Requirements: 3 in BW Mastery

For every power strike and slash blast, there is a chance of a second
hit that is twice as fast, costs zero mp, and damages more.

Level 1: 2% success rate, final attack with BW damage 105%
Level 15: 30% success rate, final attack with BW damage 175%
Level 30: 60% success rate, final attack with BW damage 250%

Definitely a plus and minus. You do not have to get FA if you don’t
want to. This applies to both sword and BW page. FA is not really
useful because it isn’t really an attack. It is more like a good sub
attack. Since you are BW page you will do 250% more damage, which is a
lot. However, you will do twice as fast and move forward. This could
damage you and that really isn’t something good. The good thing is that
this attack saves a lot of pots because it costs 0 exp.

[Threaten]
Max level: 20

Scares a mob of monsters and reduces defense.

I need information for the level and defense reduction! At maxed it
reduces 20% of defense. It has been proven.

You don’t really need this, but you’ve got nothing else to put your
points in. Besides it does help a little bit. Defense reduction has
been proven to be %. You probably will not be using this skill unless
you are inside a big mob. This is because the monsters you kill should
be pretty weak (dies in 2 or 3 of your hits). You can land one power
strike or you can use threaten. Is it really worth it spending the time
to use threaten rather than using power strike? Of course not. That is
why this skill is not really useful since you can just attack the enemy
instead! But some might say that if you scare the enemy for 20%, you
can probably kill the enemy in 1 hit instead of 3. But remember you
also have FA and besides, one hit won’t really matter.

Power Guard
Max level: 30
Requirements: Level 3 Threaten

When power guard is turned on, part of the enemy damage you receive
will be reflected back.

Very helpful for you. It reflects damage automatically and is helpful
when dealing with tough enemies. All you have to do is jump onto the
enemy and the enemy will eventually die. The only bad part is that you
will need a lot of pots or a healer. Power guard also reduces knock
back rate. So if you have this turned on, the enemy will knock you back
less. This can also be helpful on jump quests. You will not get knocked
back that often. This also acts like a shield as well. Get this as soon
as possible! In guides it tells you to get it right after your FA.
Since the page is not party friendly, the more skills you have the
better!

:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:
Page 3. Skills Allocation
:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:

When I look over page guides I usually only see one or two kinds of
builds. The build below is probably universally used or is the widest
used. There are probably other guides out there that do not include FA,
but at the moment I think we should want more FA and more damage. Note
that your mastery level only goes to level 19. This is because one
mastery level won’t kill you, and you will need to start concentrating
on other skills. Don’t worry, at the end of the job you will be able to
put points into it. Also there is an extra point on the end, I
recommend you put it in endure so you can rest on ropes if you are away
for a really long time.

Richard Dong: Save up points for final attack because it will hinder
your experience gaining. 15 should be sufficient. You can also put in
booster points (6) after final attack.

Let me explain this build. We start out with putting points into
mastery to increase your accuracy. Although having accuracy in sword is
not that good, it is always a bonus to hit more accurate. Mastery is
especially needed for BW. After that we put points into booster. With 6
booster it should be enough speed for one level of speed. Either that
or you will notice your speed go higher considerably.

These points are best for BW because of their slow speed. Sword also
benefits by becoming faster as well. FA is maxed out next so you can
save pots, do more damage, and to train faster. BW especially is better
because of the extra speed you get. Power guard is maxed next for
defense. A good offense is a good defense or so they say and that’s why
FA is maxed out first. Threaten is maxed out next because it helps a
little bit and is the only active skill left. Booster and mastery get
maxed out and one point is left over for anything.

The Spearman
:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:

I’m sorry readers, but this is my weakest section. I will try to use my
knowledge of the spearman to my best extent. If you have something to
add, email me. Okay the spearman doesn’t show much promise, but the
skills they gain aren’t that bad. They level faster than pages, but
level slower than fighters.

Where they start showing promise is in the third job. Spearmen are hard
hitters. Despite their slow weapon speed, their attacks are extremely
powerful. Do not mess with them. They can use two weapons, polearm and
spear. The polearm benefits from slashing and spear benefits from
stabbing. However, although the slash and stab ratio is 3:2, many
people still choose pure spear or hybrid. Hybrid means going both
polearm and spear.

The reason is because skills in the 3rd job have made spears do better
damage. People might say spear isn’t that great since its 3:2 so they
go hybrid. First they max out pole arm and than they put in points for
spear for the 3rd job. Hybrid builds have been created by people and
there are several. One is the no FA build. Another minuses some points
off of hyper body, and there are others out there.

There are also pure polearm builds which will be explained more in the
dragon knights section. I can’t reveal too much now hee hee. Still, I
wouldn’t say for certain that spear is better than polearm. Since spear
and polearm are pretty slow, use the jump + attack trick until you have
decent booster. Another thing about spearman. Spearman are probably the
most picked out of the three warrior 2nd jobs. This is because they
gain a skill called hyper body. Hyper body increases your hp and mp by
a percent. So obviously this will be a popular party class.

:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:
Spearman 1. Stats Allocation
:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:

The spearman is similar to other classes in terms of stats. They will
need to have enough dex for equipment. The most you need should be 80.
To do this can be in a number of ways. You can do 1 dex 4 str or you
could use the page version and do it at certain times or you can do it
your own way as long if it follows equipment stats. All three methods
SHOULD get you to 80 and let you have enough dex for equipment. I am
not POSITIVE that these methods will definitely get you to 80. Now I’m
going to post both the page version and also the fighter version to
give you a decent idea of what to do.

Fighter Version (my version):

Level 30:
Str: *
Dex: 60
Int: 4 or 5
Luk: 4 or 5

Level 40:
Str: *
Dex: 70
Int: 4 or 5
Luk: 4 or 5

Level 50:
Str: *
Dex: 80
Int: 4 or 5
Luk: 4 or 5

level 60:
Str: *
Dex: 80
Int: 4 or 5
Luk: 4 or 5

Or Page Version:

Level 30:
Str: *
Dex: 60
Int: 4 or 5
Luk: 4 or 5

Level 40:
Str: *
Dex: 60
Int: 4 or 5
Luk: 4 or 5

Level 50:
Str: *
Dex: 70
Int: 4 or 5
Luk: 4 or 5

Level 60~70:
Str: *
Dex: 80
Int: 4 or 5
Luk: 4 or 5

As a side note the equipment method has to be done by you and you only.
Only you can make the right judgments when to put in stats and when not
to. Also, there are pure spearmen as well, but I do not have a guide
currently for them, if you have a pure spearman guide, you can email it
to me if you would like.

Richard Dong: Get 80 into dex for equipment, then get dex armor, if
you’re heavily funded, you can get by with extremely low dex.

:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:
Spearman 2. Skills
:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:

Here are the skills from the spearman guide from HelzLance.

[Spear Mastery]
Master Level: 20

Increases the spear mastery and accuracy. It only applies when a spear
is in hand.

Level 1: Spear Mastery 15%, accuracy +1
Level 10: Spear Mastery 35%, accuracy +10
Level 20: Spear Mastery 60%, accuracy +20

Get this as soon as possible if you are going pure spear. This will
raise your minimum damage (slashing) up by a lot. I believe pole arm
and spear have extremely unstable damage. That means you may do very
little then very high damage. Having this skill could increase your
minimum so at least it would a bit more stable. Remember; do not
hesitate putting points into this! This skill does not decrease your
maximum damage!

[Pole Arm Mastery]
Master Level: 20

Increases the pole arm mastery and accuracy. It only applies when a
polearm is in hand.

Level 1: Pole Arm Mastery 15%, accuracy +1
Level 10: Pole Arm Mastery 35%, accuracy +10
Level 20: Pole Arm Mastery 60%, accuracy +20

Get this if you are going hybrid or going pure pole arm. This is
extremely vital to you because you have unstable damage. Unstable
damage means you will do very high than very low. If you have mastery
it increases your minimum, but does not decrease you maximum. That
would mean you would still do tremendous damage and still maintain it
at a decent rate.

[Final Attack : Spear]
Master Level: 30

With a certain success rate, another attack follows after performing an
attacking skill. Only works with a spear in hand.

Level 1: 2% success rate, final attack with spear damage 105%
Level 15: 30% success rate, final attack with spear damage 175%
Level 30: 60% success rate, final attack with spear damage 250%

Since spears and pole arms are still a bit slow even with booster, they
need to rely on final attack to go faster. However, I don’t think it
really matters because I mean what are the chances of you going to need
more than one attack to kill an enemy? You have lots of fire power; use
that to your advantage!

[Final Attack : Pole Arm]
Master Level: 30

With a certain success rate, another attack follows after performing an
attacking skill. Only works with a pole arm in hand.

Level 1: 2% success rate, final attack with pole arm damage 105%
Level 15: 30% success rate, final attack with pole arm damage 175%
Level 30: 60% success rate, final attack with pole arm damage 250%

A good skill, but you don’t necessary need it. Your third job skills do
not I repeat DO NOT activate with FA. Still, it is worth getting it
because you need it for faster training. FA also helps reduce pot usage
and therefore less use of money. However, FA can be quite annoying when
you bump into an enemy while using it. But come on, you will probably
kill the enemy before he even gets close!

[Spear Booster]
Master Level: 20

Use HP and MP to temporarily boost up the attacking speed of the
equipped spear. It only applies when a spear is in hand.

Level 1: HP -29, MP -29; Increase in spear speed for 10 seconds
Level 10: HP -20, MP -20; Increase in spear speed for 100 seconds
Level 20: HP -10, MP -10; Increase in spear speed for 200 seconds

A definitely needed skill. Because spear and pole arm are not that
fast, booster is a definite need to increase their attack speed. With
attack speed, FA, and mastery, these weapons can rack up both DoT and
DPS. Of course, more speed means more kills, and more kills mean more
exp which means faster leveling which means closer to third job!

[Pole Arm Booster]
Master Level: 20

Use HP and MP to temporarily boost up the attacking speed of the
equipped pole arm. It only applies when a pole arm is in hand.
Level 1: HP -29, MP -29; Increase in pole arm speed for 10 seconds
Level 10: HP -20, MP -20; Increase in pole arm speed for 100 seconds
Level 20: HP -10, MP -10; Increase in pole arm speed for 200 seconds

If you don’t have this skill, I advise you to restart your character.
This skill is so badly needed for pole arm and spear it is not funny.
Unless you want to have super slow attacks, I advise you greatly to get
this skill. Not only will it increase your speed drastically, it will
help you level up faster and save pots (you’ll get hit more).

[Iron Will]
Master Level: 20

Temporarily increases the level of weapon and magic defense on every
member of the party around the area.

Level 1: MP -12; Weapon def. +1, magic def. +1 for 15 seconds
Level 10: MP -12; Weapon def. +10, magic def. +10 for 150 seconds
Level 20: MP -24; Weapon def. +20, magic def. +20 for 300 seconds

Not such a good skill in my book. It’ll be helpful because of the long
duration and that stuff, but it is not percent and therefore may not be
as good. Just like iron body, it will only reduce a few damage when you
are higher leveled. Iron will probably, well theoretically will do the
same. Still, you will need to put points in it for hyper body and what
else can you put points in?

[Hyper Body]
Master Level: 30

Temporarily increases the Max HP and Max MP of all members of the party
around the area.

Level 1: MP -25; MaxHP +2%, MaxMP +2% for 10 seconds
Level 15: MP -25; MaxHP +30%, MaxMP +30% for 80 seconds
Level 30: MP -50; MaxHP +60%, MaxMP +60% for 155 seconds

This is THE skill for spearman. Hyper body is the skill that separates
them from the rest. It is a very popular party choice to every single
job. Who wouldn’t want 60% more hp and 60% more mp? This is probably
one of the best boost skills for the warrior 2nd jobs. In fact, there
will probably be debate for this skill on being one of the top party
skills! The only ones better are probably haste and heal. 60% hp can
save your life and 60% mp can give you lesser pots. Max this out as
soon as you can.

Spearman 3. Skills Allocation
:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:

Now comes the super hard part. Skill allocation. There are many ways to
build a spearman and I am determined to put them all here! The ones I
have currently are hybrid, hybrid 1.5, pure spear, and pure pole arm.

The first one we will discuss on is pure spear. Pure spear has its
advantage in that it won’t miss out on anything and will be very strong
in the third job. However, although it has mastery, it will level
slower than a hybrid and pure pole arm because of the slash ratio.
Still, this is the solid secure way to go if you are going to be a
dragon knight.

Richard Dong: Save up points for final attack because it will hinder
your experience gaining. 15 should be sufficient. Get 6 points of
booster before final attack to get decent speed.

This build maxes out spear mastery in the beginning. Although this is
optional, you don’t have to max it out. You can put the last point in
the end. One point cannot wreck your whole accuracy. Next it goes into
final attack, although I would put some points into booster now, you
can also use it this way. It will be slower, but you get more attack.
Speed is not very important, damage is. Then you will put a few points
into iron will to get hyper body. Once you get hyper body all maxed
out, you are a full party spearman, ready to party >_<. Finally you max
out booster and lastly iron will. You have one point remaining which
can be used for endure.

The next build will be pure pole arm. Do not worry, pole arm is not
THAT bad in the third job. Although dragon fury is not that powerful,
you can use sacrifice, which sacrifices a lot, but in return a blow
that has potential to be more powerful than buster.

Richard Dong: Save up points for final attack because it will hinder
your experience gaining. 15 should be sufficient. You can also put in
booster points (6) before final attack.

This is similar to the spear version except for a few things. One
mainly because it is pole arm instead. One thing I should note is that
you could put some points in between pole arm mastery and final attack
because well more speed you can kill faster. The free point is spent on
endure, but you can spend it on any other skill. The only concern I
have is the speed, but more damage could overcome the no speed.

Next we have our hybrid. Hybrid is used because spear has a strong
skill in the 3rd job that is way more powerful than the polearm one.
However there’s a catch, going pure spear might lower your training
speed. With this build you will sacrifice some skills, but in exchange
you will level up faster. Also, the hybrid is very versatile, at the
expense of buying double weapons you can use PA dragon fury and spear
crusher.

Richard Dong: Save up points for final attack because it will hinder
your experience gaining. 15 should be sufficient.

I actually think there are some problems on this. First off I believe
final attack does not work for some of the third job skill so why get
15 in to Spear FA? Second is that you should get hyper body and those
stuff in the beginning more and it should be maxed out. Booster is also
not maxed out. Leaving a booster like that is not something I would do.

The next build is another hybrid build submitted by Richard Dong. It
focuses on getting the hyper body maxed out fist. It is a better build
in my book.

66- Spear Booster 3
67- Spear Booster 3
68- Spear Booster 1; 2 into whatever
69- 3 into whatever
70- 3 into whatever

This is what I would call a better build. Richard takes out FA because
he probably knows that 3rd job skills don’t work. Anyways, he puts in
points in booster after maxing out mastery. Then he gets hyper body
which is like THE skill. Then gets the rest. One thing though, if you
are going hybrid I would prefer this one than the other. Plus you have
8 free points to use for. Having no FA can be bad, but it also has a
lot of advantages to like being able to max out some other skills.

The next build is hybrid 1.5 submitted by Richard Dong. Hybrid 1.5’s
main job is to help you get by the second job faster, not to be
versatile during the third job. So if you want to get to the third job
quickly, but lose your ability to be versatile, use this build.

30 Hyper Body (MAXED)

This build will get you by second job faster because of maxed hyper
body and final attack pole arm. The things I don’t like about this
build is that you do not achieve maxed booster for either of the
weapons. And your mastery ends at 19 points. Although one point will
not kill you, I am very picky and this affects me GREATLY.

Okay guys I think I’m going to stop here for the guide. I need to get
more information to continue. And also to HelzLance, I didn’t get a
response from your email for 3 days, so I asked Richard if I could use
your guide. I think he said yes, so I’m sorry if I am using parts of
your guide without your permission.

Now the reason I need to collect more information is because I like to
know how things work. I’m not the type of guy to just get information
than paste it on here without any idea how that just worked. I need to
understand what a crusader is, I need to understand what a White Knight
is, and I need to live what a Dragon Knight is without leveling to
there. I need to read other guides! But I wanted to post on what I had.
Sorry if you’re looking for more I will edit it. I promise... as soon
as I know how >_<

:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:
The Third job
:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:

The third job is when the warrior starts showing its true potential. At
the third job, they will be very strong. Remember, even as you read
this part of the guide, please keep in mind that all of these jobs are
great in their own ways. Some might be better than other in terms of
speed or attack, but that can be balanced out by the other skills that
class earns.

The crusader will be an extremely powerful attacker. Using their skill
combo, you can charge up to 5 orbs around them. It looks quite awesome
and its effect is good too. Whenever you charge up a combo, I believe
you will be able to raise your attack by a certain amount (it’s proven
it is %). This means the more orbs the greater damage. That’s not all!
You can get an attack called coma and panic. Panic is a mob skill that
sacrifices orbs to do great damage to a mob. Coma is an one on one
attack, it can do as much as 30k damage when released. This 30k damage
added with your power strikes can add up to tremendous damage.

There are however a few negative points about the crusaders. First off,
you will have very unstable damage because of your orbs and orb usage.
Secondly, you will have to stick with power strikes to charge up your
orbs. The good thing is that FA helps charge them up too. I’m going to
add here that you will gain an ability called shout which will make a
blue tiger thing pop out behind your back and shout. It stuns enemy and
does decent damage, but only about 25% of dragon roar. At least it
doesn’t stun you! Shout is good for mob control, don’t spam it. It
looks cool though.

The white knight will be the weakest out of the three jobs. This is
because their best charge, lightning charge, can only do 485% damage
with elemental bonuses and charge blow (I think). Crusaders can get up
to 1000%+ with their coma and dragon knights have an even 510% damage
with their crusher/buster. However, the white knight is the most
versatile because they can have an ice charge. Ice charge can freeze
the enemies, making a white knight have a great advantage over the
other classes. This doesn’t work with bosses though (darn).

Another skill WKs get is called charge blow. Charge blow sacrifices an
elemental charge in exchange for a 250%+ (not sure) blow. This blow has
a chance to stun (maxed: 90%) and does quite a great amount of damage.
Ice charges do freezing instead of stunning. Charge blow, although slow
because you have to elemental change again, will replace your slash
blast.

Dragon knights will pawn every class in Maple Story, well some of them
at least, during the third job. They get an attack called buster or
crusher that does a massive 510% damage. They also have a skill called
dragon blood which increases your attack even more! There are, however,
major problems with the dragon knights.

Although extremely powerful, nearly all or most of the dragon knight’s
attacks have hp usage. This means that to train effectively you need a
cleric or ALOT of money for pots. Also, the buster consists of 3 hits
of 170% damage to add up to 510%. Why is this bad you say? Dex doesn’t
matter so it is most likely you will hit with all three blows. The
problem is knock back. Since you have three blows it is harder to knock
back with your attack, plus, since crusher is not THAT fast, you might
be hit and your cleric will need to spam heal because of all those hard
hits. In order to get a certain knock back, you need to buy strength
armor or attack+ armor.

Now to get to third job, you will need to talk to I believe Arec in El
Nath. After you talk to him you will need to go back to Dances with
Barlog in Victoria Island. Once you talk to him, he will send you to
defeat his evil twin brother who stole his wallet (I think). To meet
his evil brother, you will need to enter the Ant Tunnel map, go to the
very right, then enter the hidden portal to fight his evil brother.
After you kill the evil brother and get a black charm thing, head back
to dances with barlog then head over the El Nath again. Talk to Arec
again and then go answer your questions at this black crystal tablet in
a hidden street. You will need to use your refined dark crystal (from
the black charm) to talk to it. It will cost one black charm to talk to
it.
The crystal will ask you 10 questions (or 5); if you fail to answer
them incorrectly, you must start again. You can find a guide for all
the questions and answer on basilmarket.com. You have unlimited time to
answer the question, so ask some people if you need help. Once you have
completed the questions, head back to Arec. You should get your 3rd job
advancement.

:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:
The Crusader (CWG)
:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:

The Crusader has the most powerful single move strike in the whole
Maple Story. Using panic, they can rack up as much as 25k around level
90. Using their combo abilities, they can increase their attack power
by a great %. With great % and awesome damage, your crusader is the
classic one versus one warrior. However, the crusader does not HAVE to
be limited to one versus one.

To do a panic, have to charge up orbs which can be charged up when you
do an attack. Once you have a certain amount, you can release your
charges as coma or panic. If you are a pure and you go the crusader
path, your coma will probably be the highest damaging in the whole
game.

Another skill you get is shout. Shout is your mob control. It is
similar to the dragon knight’s dragon roar. A blue tiger appears behind
your back and shouts. The screen vibrates and monsters around are
stunned and receive damage. Unlike the dragon roar, you yourself do not
get stunned. According to Richard Dong, you probably don’t want to spam
this; it’s more of a crowd control skill.

What are the bad parts of this job? Although you have uber damage and
can do the most single damage in the game, you have highly unstable
damage. Obviously this unstable damage is more of an up, then more up,
then more up, then super, then it drops. Another bad thing is that you
have to charge up your combo, and then you are able to use coma or
panic. This means your training speed might be slightly reduced because
on one monster you will charge up on, and then on another monster you
release your charges. Still, the crusader is one job you do not want to
mess with.

How does this job compare to other jobs? The crusader benefits mostly
from coma, but has added damage from power strikes. The white knight
has a steady rate of power strikes and slash blasts because of
elemental charges. The dragon knight has buster which is very cheap,
but since it is three hits it might not knock back. Also dragon knight
skills cost a lot of hp and needs a cleric to train efficiently.

[Relax]
Max level: 20

Recovering even more MP every 10 sec.

Level 1 : Recover additional +2
Level 10: Recover additional +20
Level 20: Recover additional +30

Well, this isn’t the best skill, but it is a great money saver. Get
this near your end of your job to save money on pots *cough* 150k
*cough*. Definitely one of the better “sub” skills you can get.

[Shield Mastery] Max level: 20

Shield Defense increases. However, it does not affect if the character
does not equip the shield.

Level 1 : Weapon defense +5%
Level 10: Weapon defense +50%
Level 20: Weapon defense +100%

Well, most people go two handed because it is way stronger than one
handers. It’s probably good to get this skill, but an earlier guide
said that this skill, even with one handers, is not that great of a
skills. He even said Relax was more worth it. Still, I recommend it
because hey having more defense is always a plus, and it costs nothing
too.

[Combo Attack]
Max level: 30

You can charge the Combos and when the combos charge up, you can use
the Finish Attack. The Max Combo Counter is 5.

Level 1 : MP -25; Weapon attack +104% for 100 seconds, max combo
counter 3
Level 15: MP -30; Weapon attack +160% for 140 seconds, max combo

Level 30: MP -35; Weapon attack +220% for 200 seconds, max combo
counter 5

What’s your problem? Get this skill maxed out. You DO want to do that

[Panic: Sword, Axe]
Max level: 30

Attack one monster with dark power. You can use this skill only when
you equip the axe and your combo should be charged up.

Level 1 : MP -10; Weapon attack +150% and 32% chance to put it into
darkness
Level 15: MP -17; Weapon attack +273% and 60% chance to put it into
darkness
Level 30: MP -24; Weapon attack +350% and 90% chance to put it into
Darkness

Panic is your 30k skill. 350% damage and also has a chance to put the
enemy into darkness. I kind of got this confused with coma, if you see
any errors please email me and I’ll fix it. I believe this is the
strongest 3rd job single strike skill. Meso explosion has potential to
do more than 30k, but I do not believe one part of an explosion can do
30k.

[Coma: Sword, Axe]
Max level: 30

Enemy become panic when they get damaged. You can use this skill only
when you equip the axe and your combo should be charged up.

Level 1 : HP -15, MP -12; Basic attack +84%, 32% chance to stun enemy
Level 15: HP -20, MP -19; Basic attack +140%, 60% chance to stun enemy
Level 30: HP -25, MP -26; Basic attack +200%, 90% chance to stun enemy

Not as powerful as panic, though I do think stunning the enemy is
useful. Plus, it isn’t that weak so both are pretty useful in their own
ways. Coma is useful to stun, panic is useful as in damage. It’s all
just a matter of opinion. Get them both maxed out if you can’t choose.

[Armor Crash]
Max level: 20
Requires: Shout level 3

Cancel out enemy's physical defense up skill in a certain rate.

Level 1 : MP -35; 24% chance to nullify enemy's physical defense up
Level 10: MP -17; 60% chance to nullify enemy's physical defense up
Level 20: MP -7; 100% chance to nullify enemy's physical defense up

This is where Bao and I differ. He says to max this out, but I say no.
I say this is the skill where it is partially maxed out like at 11.
Why? Well simple because you can keep spamming this skill on a boss
like Zakum and eventually you’ll get the armor thing off. Besides, I
don’t think it is worth it using on a monster, because by the time you
used it you could have already done a power strike to charge up your
combo, a coma, or a panic.

[Shout]
Max level: 30

Make the enemy stun with the damage. The max number of enemy you can
attack is six.

Level 1 : MP -8; Basic attack +11%, range +110%, 52% stun for 5
seconds
Level 15: MP -12; Basic attack +22%, range +150%, 80% stun for 7
seconds
Level 30: MP -16; Basic attack +30%, range +200%, 95% stun for 10
seconds

I believe this skill is not that quick, but who says you need quickness
when you can stun, do a bit of damage, and sort of KS people? With this
skill you can show off or fight back against KSers.

Then you max out panic because at your current level you need to be
able to hit big instead of stunning. After level 90 is where you start
training faster. You will be struggling because you don’t gain THAT
much of weapon attack % and your panic is too weak. Shout is used to
show off, mob control, and KS. Coma is used to stun and is the only
good skill left. Relax helps with money and finally armor crash is the
only skill left.

Email questions to Bao Ly, and I will post them here!

:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:
The White Knight
:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:

The white knight is truly unique. They do not have the fierce power of
the dragon knight, but do not have any extreme burst damage like the
crusaders. Instead, the white knight relies on his imbues to do the
work for him or her. The three imbues you receive during the third job
is fire/flame, ice/blizzard, and thunder/lightning. Using these
charges, you can invoke massive damage onto an enemy by using the
elements against them. For instance, a fire charge would be good
against an ice monster. However, the WK is one of the most versatile
classes in the game because of this. They are effective against many
enemies, can use defense lowering skills from the second job, can
freeze, can do an awesome mob skill (charge blow), can do pretty decent
damage, and can solo or party.

How does the WK stand against other jobs? The crusaders have their
extreme damaging coma and panic. Both are very deadly and can do
massive amounts of damage. However, in order to do massive damage, you
need to charge them up, making you waste time. The white knight
instead, has a steady damage of nice damage that can go around 10k. So
if the white knight has elemental advantage, he should be able to do
more damage then the crusader. The dragon knight is another matter.
They have a 510% damaging skill and the most we have is 485% damage. We
do more damage then them over time because they can only have 55
busters in one minute or around that. That means we will eventually do
more damage. Another thing we’re better then is that they need a
cleric. However, don’t let this make you seem happy. They are very
powerful still because they do 510% per monster(s), we do 485% to a
monster(s) at the most and since you have to recharge charge blow, they
probably already had 2 busters.

That would mean they have 1020% and we have 485%... at least charge
blow stuns! Some reasons the white knight is not picked is because
people do not understand them well. Oh, look the white knight sucks
against bosses so why should I pick it. I mean there are some monsters
that can’t be affected by imbues. Wrong, who is going to get exp by
training on bosses... probably very little. The only thing you will get
from a boss are good items, but the bandit in front is very swift and
will take everything. So, that leads us to monsters. Monsters are an
easy matter; we just have to pick the right monsters to attack.

White Knight 1. Skills
:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:

Relax Master Level: 20
Type: Passive

Description: Recovering even more MP every 10 sec.

Level 1: Recover additional +2 MP
Level 11: Recover additional +21 MP
Level 20: Recover additional +30 MP

Skill that isn’t very important, but hey you can save some money off of
this. I think it’s about 150k. That isn’t a lot but think what you can
buy with all that money. Hey you can give it to me :).

Shield Mastery Master Level: 20
Type: Passive

Description: Shield Defense increases. However, it does not affect if
the character does not equip the shield.

Level 1: Weapon defense +5%
Level 11: Weapon defense +55%
Level 20: Weapon defense +100%

Not very worth it even if you do have a shield. If you want more
defense I guess you should get it, but only get it after you get the
good skills maxed out. A good offense is a good defense. Besides, a
white knight needs more damage, not more defense, they have threaten
and ice to do that for them.

Charge Blow Master Level: 30
Type: Active

Description: Make the enemy stun. You can use this skill only when your
combo is charged up.

Level 1: HP -15, MP -12; Weapon attack +162% and 32% probability to
stun enemy
Level 16: HP -20, MP -19; Weapon attack +198% and 62% probability to
stun enemy
Level 30: HP -25, MP -26; Weapon attack +250% and 90% probability to
stun enemy

Definitely get this, although you have to recharge every single time
you use it, it can do a lot of damage, stun and do damage to a mob. So
you can just jump over the enemies. This skill looks like a circle I
think. It goes around you and hits monsters. Also a nice finishing
move.

Fire Charge (Sword) Master Level: 30
Type: Active

Description: You can attack with fire power. The skill gets canceled if
you use Charge Blow or if the time runs out.

Level 1: MP -25; Adding flame attribute and weapon att. +102% for 12
seconds
Level 16: MP -30; Adding flame attribute and weapon att. +113% for 116
seconds
Level 30: MP -35; Adding flame attribute and weapon att. +120% for 200
seconds

I recommend getting this first if you are a sword WK. This is because
you can start training on the yetis inside El Nath. Supposedly it’s the
best place to train at the moment for your level. Great exp and
sometimes drop. All around a good spot. There might be other people
there as well so party them too for a more fun killing.

Flame Charge (Blunt Weapon) Master Level: 30
Type: Active

Description: You can attack with fire power. The skill gets canceled if
you use Charge Blow or if the time runs out.

Level 1: MP -25; Adding flame attribute and weapon att. +102% for 12
seconds
Level 16: MP -30; Adding flame attribute and weapon att. +113% for 116
seconds
Level 30: MP -35; Adding flame attribute and weapon att. +120% for 200
seconds

Get this quick if you are a BW WK. Fire is good against ice and since
you’re going to train on yetis... well... you are... you probably want
to have this skill with you as it does more damage. Also, there are
some monsters that you face later in the game that will need to be
defeated by this charge. Remember, if you have a charge and it is not
elemental effective, it does not do a lot of damage.

Ice Charge (Sword) Master Level: 30
Type: Active Pre-requisite:

Description: You can attack with ice power. The skill get canceled if
you use Charge Blow or if the time runs out.

Level 1: MP -25; Adding ice attribute and weapon att. +95% for 12
seconds
Level 16: MP -30; Adding ice attribute and weapon att. +101% for 116
seconds
Level 30: MP -35; Adding ice attribute and weapon att. +105% for 200
seconds

Saves your life and you bank. If you meet freeze weak monsters, they
not only will be frozen so you can keep hitting them and freezing, but
it can save your life. Freezing also allows other people to get hits in
easier since they don’t have ice charge (unless they’re ice mages). Ice
charge is very weak, so don’t try to use this when another charge can
be more effective. Ice charge can freeze, but don’t forget it costs the
same mp as the other charges.

Blizzard Charge (Blunt Weapon) Master Level: 30
Type: Active

Description: You can attack with blizzard power. The skill get canceled
if you use Charge Blow or if the time runs out.

Level 1: MP -25; Adding ice attribute and weapon att. +95% for 12
seconds
Level 16: MP -30; Adding ice attribute and weapon att. +101% for 116
Level 30: MP -35; Adding ice attribute and weapon att. +105% for 200
seconds

Blunt weapon charge, very effective since you attack a bit slower than
the sword having freeze is pretty nice against the enemy. Once they
freeze, it doesn’t matter whether you stab or slash because they will
be frozen no matter what. Just a quick note, some monsters do not get
effected by ice and usually those monsters are ice monsters so use your
fire charge instead. For bosses well... you’re not going to fight
bosses because they usually are elemental weak.

Thunder Charge (Sword) Master Level: 30
Type: Active

Description: You can attack with thunder power. The skill get canceled
if you use Charge Blow or if the time runs out.

Level 1: MP -25; Adding thunder attribute and weapon att. +102% for 12
seconds
Level 16: MP -30; Adding thunder attribute and weapon att. +118% for
116 seconds
Level 30: MP -35; Adding thunder attribute and weapon att. +125% for
200 seconds

I’m not very sure about thunder charge. Thunder and lightning I believe
is good against monsters that you are going to fight way later in the
game. I’m not very sure about the monsters themselves, but I am sure
there has to be monsters that are weak against lightning. I recommend
getting this some time in the game because there ARE (there has to be)
some monsters at least out there that are going to be thunder weak.

Lightning Charge (Blunt Weapon) Master Level: 30
Type: Active

Description: You can attack with lightning power. The skill get
canceled if you use Charge Blow or if the time runs out.

Level 1: MP -25; Adding thunder attribute and weapon att. +102% for 12
seconds
Level 16: MP -30; Adding thunder attribute and weapon att. +118% for
116 seconds
Level 30: MP -35; Adding thunder attribute and weapon att. +125% for
200 seconds

Lightning and thunder charge are the strongest charges. This means that
with elemental advantage lightning will do the most damage. The most
percent damage possible to a WK is 485% damage or something around
that. 485% is lightning/thunder charge with charge blow. Although 485%
is smaller than the dragon knight’s 510%, remember the disadvantages of
the dragon knights as well such as the use of cleric.

Magic Crash Master Level: 20
Type: Support Pre-requisite: Charge Blow Lv. 3

Description: Cancel out enemy's magical defense up skill in a certain
rate

Level 1: MP -35; 24% probability magic guard is nullified
Level 11: MP -16; 64% probability magic guard is nullified
Level 20: MP -7; 100% probability magic guard is nullified

Not such a great skill in my book. Get it as your last skill and it
probably won’t be maxed out. If magic crash doesn’t work (because it
will be like at level 11), keep spamming it and it should work. Many
bosses have to be magic crashed such as Zakum. There are others, but
that is the only one I know (I’m level 33). Zakum needs all 3 of the
warrior’s crashes to disable its powerups. However, a white knight
isn’t that great in bosses and might not even be there making magic
crash in this situation pretty useless.

Another white knight guide produced several combinations to use.
However, I couldn’t ask for permission on that guide so we’re going to
stick with this one. Hmm, I really don’t’ think in the end there should
be maxed magic crash. Instead I think you should get maxed shield
mastery or relax. Each can save money in their own ways and shield
mastery increases defense which is a plus.

In the beginning it says for you to max out fire charge immediately.
Follow up with charge blow then lightning then ice charge. You do not
have to follow this exactly. What I would do is Fire -> some points
into Ice -> charge blow -> lightning -> rest into ice. This is because
some points into ice can help freeze monsters and help you. It’s all a
matter of opinion. As long if you have the following you should be
okay:

30 Fire Charge (MAXED)
30 Lightning Charge (MAXED)
30 Ice Charge (MAXED)
30 Charge Blow (MAXED)

Dragon Knight
:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:

Congratulations on becoming a dragon knight. The dragon knight is one
of the most want to be’s in the whole game. They have awesome damage
and awesome animations. However, the downside is that it is a long road
to dragon knights. Many of you who are reading this guide are warriors
that are aiming to become a dragon knight. Many of you readers are not
warriors, but wish to learn more about dragon knights. Exactly why do
people want to be a dragon knight?

They have a 510% skill which does great amount of damage. Since the
basic damage of a spear is very high, 510% increases it further, making
it more deadly. Another skill called sacrifice sacrifices some of your
hp, but in exchange will deal a massive one hit to a monsters. This hit
has the potential of being more powerful than buster. However, there’s
a catch. Sacrifice is very sacrificial indeed and it acts on the slash
and stab animation damage thing, so it will be based on that. Dragon
roar is the coolest move to newbs, they love that move for some reason
(me too!). However, to the dragon knight... it isn’t that great. It can
cost up to 50% of your hp and stuns you as well. A cleric is needed for
a dragon knight to train effectively.

Before I said that you can become pure pole arm correct? Now I will
explain why. This is because you can use your dragon fury to invoke
great mob damage. However, the problem is that there needs to be a mob.
For your 1v1 just use sacrifice. Since you have 3:2 slashing to stab
ratio, you have a chance to do greater damage. I know this for a fact
because I asked a pure pole arm in person.

Hybrids are very versatile in the game, for a bit more money, they can
wear both pole arms and spears efficiently, that is of course if you
aren’t hybrid 1.5. Hybrid 1.5 focuses more on getting you quickly
through the 2nd class. Hybrid focuses more on being more balanced
between to two. Since hybrids can wear both pole arms and spears, they
can use a good buster and a good dragon fury as well. That is one
reason why people go hybrid.

As I have explained a couple times, there are some disadvantages to
dragon knights. One big disadvantage is the lack of damage of buster.
No, I do not mean the 510%, but I mean each part of the damage. Let us
say you do 9k with 510% damage. Split that in three and you have 3k for
170% damage. Some monsters need more then just 3k to be knocked back.
That would mean you would have to be hit sometimes. One way to counter
this is to use your dragon fury to knock back. It may be slash reduced,
but it should do more then 3k per hit.

Another disadvantage is your dex. When you fight harder monsters, you
will need more dex, and since you stopped at 80 or 90 you will need to
buy dex armor. However, you have already spent your money on strength
armor so each of your 170% hits will hit and knock back. You cannot
afford to put on dex armor or else you’ll get hit often. If one of your
hits miss that means you get a 33.33% reduction. The good thing is that
each of your hits have a % to hit so you have that % x 3 to get at
least one hit on the monsters. And also, you cannot afford to put AP
into dex because as I have explained before you need more strength and
strength armor to do more damage.

Again another reason is the hp usage. Every or most of the skills you
get use hp. This means that if you have to low hp and the enemy hits
you, you might die without notice. Also this means you would need to
have a lot of potions or a cleric to train efficiently. With your 170%
knock back disadvantage as well, you may be hit even more, lowering
your hp even more. And your dragon roar, omg the dragon roar is so cool
and does okay damage to every monster on your screen. But in exchange
you agro them towards you, get stunned, and lose a lot of hp during the
attack.

Overall the dragon knight is a very hard hitting class and probably the
hardest in the third job, but they have many disadvantages and don’t
train very efficiently compared to the other two classes. All the
attacks the dragon knight gets is powerful, but they have disadvantages
as well.

Dragon Knight 1. Skills
:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:

Element Resistance Master Level: 20
Type: Passive

Description: You get additional resistance from Fire, Cold, Lightning &
Poison.

Level 1: 12% resistance against magic attacks
Level 11: 31% resistance against magic attacks
Level 20: 40% resistance against magic attacks

This is one of the good defense skills a dragon knight gets. Almost
every monster has some type of element. Zakum has a lot of elements.
Definitely a great skill since you get to resist attacks. I would say
Elemental Resistance is way better than shield mastery.

Buster (Spear) Master Level: 30
Type: Active

Description: Attack the enemy several times with the spear.

Level 1: MP -10; Basic attack 55%, attack 1 enemy 2 times
Level 16: MP -19; Basic attack 124%, attack 1 enemy 3 times
Level 30: MP -24; Basic attack 170%, attack 3 enemy 3 times

The strongest skill a dragon knight can get. 170% x 3 = 510% that means
for every buster you do with dragon knight, you do 510% damage.
However, there’s a catch. Buster’s animation is only stabbing. That
means that in order to get stable damage, a spear is chosen more than
the pole arm. Only get this skill if you are hybrid, pure spear, or
hybrid 1.5.

Buster (Pole Arm) Master Level: 30
Type: Active

Description: Attack the enemy several times with the pole arm.

Level 1: MP -10; Basic attack 55%, attack 1 enemy 2 times
Level 16: MP -19; Basic attack 124%, attack 1 enemy 3 times
Level 30: MP -24; Basic attack 170%, attack 3 enemy 3 times

I do not recommend this skill even to those who are pure pole arm. This
is because you will be using sacrifice instead of PA buster to kill
monsters. For mobs just use dragon fury. Forced stab animation means
that you will have damage reduction.

Dragon Fury (Spear) Master Level: 30
Type: Active

Description: Attack multiple enemies by swinging the spear.

Level 1: HP -20, MP -10; Basic attack 80%
Level 16: HP -25, MP -15; Basic attack 200%
Level 30: HP -30, MP -20; Basic attack 250%

I still recommend this even if you are a pure spear. This is because if
a monster does not get knocked back by your buster, you would just hit
him with a dragon fury. Usually it will knock back. The things to watch
out for is the cost. You use up both hp and mp so go to options and
close off hp warning. Dragon fury is forced slash so you don’t have to
get it if you are a pure spear. If you are pure spear and you can’t
knock back a monster, I recommend training somewhere else instead.

Dragon Fury (Pole Arm) Master Level: 30
Type: Active

Description: Attack multiple enemies by swinging the pole arm.

Level 1: HP -20, MP -10; Basic attack 80%
Level 16: HP -25, MP -15; Basic attack 200%
Level 30: HP -30, MP -20; Basic attack 250%

Your main attack if you are pure pole arm. Get this also if you are
hybrid, but not hybrid 1.5. Dragon fury is forced slash animation.

Sacrifice Master Level: 30
Type: Active

Description: Attack one enemy regardless their weapon defense by
sacrificing character's HP.

Level 1: MP -12; Basic attack 205%, sacrifice 20% HP from damage
Level 16: MP -15; Basic attack 280%, sacrifice 12% HP from damage
Level 30: MP -18; Basic attack 350%, sacrifice 5% HP from damage

Since you sacrifice 5% of your hp, and only do 350% damage, this is
useless to everyone who is pure spear, hybrid, or hybrid 1.5. You do
more damage with buster than sacrifice. However if you are a pure pole
arm, this will be your main attack. Since the ratio of stab and slash
favors pole arm, you will attack better with sacrifice. Sacrifice,
although costs a lot, is going to be your one versus one monster skill.
Also, I believe it attacks as fast as dragon fury, so you will be doing
more or less than buster over time. The bad thing about sacrifice is
that sacrifice can only affect one monster.

Dragon Roar Master Level: 30
Type: Active Pre-requisite: Sacrifice Lv 3

Description: Dragons attack with their roar. You can only use this
skill when you have more than half of HP.

Level 1: HP -59%, MP -16; Basic attack 96%, range 110%, stunned for 4
seconds
Level 16: HP -44%, MP -24; Basic attack 180%, range 260%, stunned for 3
seconds
Level 30: HP -30%, MP -30; Basic attack 240%, range 400%, stunned for 2
seconds

As you can see, you take away a % of your hp so in order to spam dragon
roar and kill efficiently you must have a priest. The good thing is
that dragon roar hits every monster on the screen for decent damage and
is chosen over sacrifice for this reason. I’m not sure if it aggros
though. The bad things are that you can’t use dragon roar if you have
half of your hp left and you are stunned. However, this attack is THE
newb want to see skill.

Power Crash Master Level: 20
Type: Support Pre-requisite: Dragon Blood Lv 3

Description: Cancels out enemy's power up skill.

Level 1: MP -35; 24% success rate power up improvement skill of the
enemy is nullified
Level 11: MP -16; 64% success rate power up improvement skill of the
enemy is nullified
Level 20: MP -7; 100% success rate power up improvement skill of the
enemy is nullified

I don’t think this is very useful because you’re probably going to be
able to kill the monster even with power crash. And also, you could
just spam power crash to get the power up down. Get a few points in it,
but I really don’t think it is useful.

Dragon Blood Master Level: 20
Type: Support

Description: Attack with Increased Damage, but HP slowly decreased

Level 1: MP -12 HP -48 every 4 seconds; Attack +1 for 8 seconds
Level 11: MP -24 HP -29 every 4 seconds; Attack +7 for 88 seconds
Level 20: MP -24 HP -20 every 4 seconds; Attack +12 for 160 seconds

This skill is very useful even if it does sap away your hp and mp. More
attack is useful to you since your buster may or may not knock back.
Dragon blood helps you knock back and give you more damage. A good sub
skill indeed. However, keep in mind that hp will slowly decrease. Turn
off hp warning in options.

18 Power Crash (NOT MAXED)
30 Dragon Roar (MAXED)
3 Sacrifice (NOT MAXED)

This build is essentially for hybrid, hybrid 1.5, and possibly pure
spear. You start out by maxing out spear buster which is essential.
Dragon blood helps a lot for attack so you get it next. Then we have
dragon fury. If you are pure spear or hybrid 1.5, get spear dragon
fury, if you are hybrid get pole arm dragon fury. Elemental resistance
is maxed out because of defense. Sacrifice is left at 3 so you can get
dragon roar. Power crash is sort of used and is sort of maxed out.
Dragon roar is the finisher.

I’d say this build is pretty good, however I believe near the end you
should put one point into power crash, max out dragon roar and then try
to max out power crash. My reasons behind this are because dragon roar
does help a bit and you can show off to other people. Power crash isn’t
that helpful, but it’s better than not maxed out sacrifice.

116- Power Crash 3
117- Power Crash 3

120- Power Crash 3

Having a 12% boost to elemental resistance is always a plus since
you’re going to attack yetis or something that has elemental attacks...
right...? Then the good skills are gotten like dragon fury and dragon
blood. This is where their builds differ. Richard goes dragon roar
maybe because it is more helpful then resistance and power crash. It’s
always a plus to have attack skills before the support skills (unless
it’s dragon blood).

This build is nice and I’d prefer it more than HelzLance’s one because
of the earlier dragon roar. Dragon roar is not that helpful, but at
least you get an attack skill maxed out!
