Spearman Hybrid Guide

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My quick guide on Spearmans, Stats Points, Skills, Training Spots, ETC
~~~~~~~~~~~~~-------------------------------~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Note: No info on 3rd Class (Dragon Knight)

So you've decided to become a Spearman, eh? There are some things that you should know.

Quote:

Advantages:

* Uses spears and polearms

* Polearms have a stronger slash

* Spears have a stronger stab

* Weapons have long reach

* Fancy 3rd job skills

* Strongest raw attack

* Many multi-hit moves in 3rd job

* Hyper Body allows them to have much more HP and MP

* Since advancing to Spearman gives you more MP, they have the most MP out of all the warriors

Disadvantages:

* Spears and Polearms are slow

* Spears do less damage when slashing

* Polearms do less damage when stabbing

* Hardest class to use

* Very big range between minimum and maximum damage

* Lower defense than Page and Fighter because they have no Power Guard

Spears:

Pros- Slightly faster attack when you stab,

and more damage when you stab

----Cons-

Spears at level 50+ = expensive

Slash damage= weak

Polearms:

Pros: Strong slash damage,

prices of polearms slightly less expensive

Cons

weak at stab

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now that that's done, let's talk about the basics
~~~~~~~~Skills of the Warrior~~~~~~~

Now, let's talk about Spearmans.

Spearmans are overall strong and flexible, with skills that is really helpful in parties

Your Stats Distribution should go somewhere along these lines; if your a 4/4 build

Hybrid Spearman

Hybrid Spearman consists of maxing Both Spear AND Pole arm (Halberd) Mastery to maximize the potential of the Third Job Advancement (Dragon Knight) for spearman. There are 2 moves that the Dragon Knight will be using whether they are going hybrid or not. They are Dragon Buster and Dragon Thrasher (fury). Buster when maxed attacks up to 3 monsters 3 times with a 170% multiplier. Buster however ALWAYS stabs. While Thrasher (fury) attacks up to 6 enemies ONCE with a 250% damage multiplier AND always slashes. Buster ALWAYS Stabs while Thrasher (fury) ALWAYS slashes. Since Spears are stronger in Stab and Pole arms (Halberds) are stronger in Slash. It would be a good idea to use Buster using Spears and Thrasher (fury) using pole arm (halberds). That is what the 2 masteries are for: to maximize the potential of using Both Spear AND Pole arm in the third job; pole arm for Thrasher (fury) and Spear for Buster. Using Pole arm Buster or Spear Thrasher (fury) wouldn’t be very good since. Who would want to do less damage o_O.

Questions and Answers *

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. I heard that you should only get 19 Mastery, but your guide says 20.
A: Well, Lvl 20 mastery does NOT add damage, but it adds 1 more Accuarcy, which is useful and for 1 acc, you need 1-2 more dex for just 1 more acc
2. Why Iron Body? Why not Iron Wall/Will
A: Iron body is like.. your wearing another armor if maxed. The 40 more defence boost can help you alot, reducing around 20 dmg which can save alot of potions. I Iron Will though adds 20 Def and 20 Mdef. Both are good but, alot of monsters have physical dmg, and you'll probably fighting alot of them. If you want more mdef, just use Ancient Saps,etc
**Note** It's your choice on what you decided to use, both are good, but I perfer Iron Body. If you Do want Iron Will, then that's your choice, just replace the last points to iron will instead of body and your set
3. At level 30-70 I hear people saying putting 5 str each level until 35 to wear your gloves, and then some weird way to distribute your other stat points
A: At level 35, if you do the 4 Str, 1 Dex method, then you will have 120 Str, 5 short of the Dark Briggons, but, you can get +Str, from armors such as White Cross Chainmails to boost your str to wear the gloves
4. Can you redo the stat distribution? Because by level 40, you only have 140 str, but you need 150 to wear Adamantine Knuckles
A: I know the lvl 40 gloves needs 150 str, when I was level 40, I only had 140, but my your level 40 equip should boost your str enough to wear your gloves.
Even if you don't get enough str by your things, your next levels will allow you to
5. I wanna go full spear, but theres no spear for lvl 20-30, is polearm the same or does it make difference?
A: Actually, there is a level 20 spear called "Fish Spear" and Bubblings drop them. For the most part, it doesn't matter if you use a spear or polearm at levels 20-30, anything that you can kill with is fine
6. Does Iron Body and Iron Wall Stack?
A: No, but if you have them both maxed, then cast iron wall then body you will get a +40 wdef and a +20 mdef bonus
7. What does booster do?
A: Booster increases your speed by 1 for certain amount of time, ie. normal-> fast, slow-> normal, etc
8. Why do you get Iron Will/Body?
A: Well, by the time you maxed all that out, you'll have some points left over. If you get Will/Body it will still help you a little bit, unless you go hybrid
9. What does Hyper Body do EXACTLY? Does it adds 60% to your MAX mp and hp?
A. Hyper Body just makes your HP and MP go higher depending on it's level, 60% HP and MP more when it's maxed
10. Hybrid Spearman? Good or Bad?
A. Hybrid Spearman are Spear+Polearm, which are good at all, decent actually. When they are 3rd class, they will do fine, having the advantage of either getting buster or fury, BUT if they want both, they wont have enough skills for blood, or w/e
11. "Why is dex so important? I am trying to build my spearman with minimum dex. My reasoning for this is that str = more damage. Am I wrong?"
A. Dex= Important. Dex is what let's you hit things. Even when your level 30 let's say, you still have troubles hitting Jr Neckis (those lil annoyinawaefkha). If you don't have enough dex you won't be able to hit anything at all. (Maybe except slimes and snails.) You should have enough dex to hit monsters you want to kill and that should be enough.
12. I love to party with my friends, but what should I use or get? Iron Will or Iron Body?
A. If your in parties most of the time you should just get Iron Will, but if your solo alot, Iron Body is good; but both are a waste until you have SP left over
13.If you have 4/4 stats, you have 2 points left over from the str/dex bases. I usually put them into DEX, but does it matter which one you put them into?
A: Dex= 2x your lvl till 30, NEVER put any points into luck/int, rest goes into str.
14. What would be the recommended lvl to hunt Bubblings to get the Fish Spear?
A: Well, if you have another char 30+ is great, but you can start about at lvl 20 if you can hit them
15. Is a Polearm easy to lvl up from lvl 30 to 70?
A. If your a spearman, polearm will slightly be faster to lvl than spear
16. I heard that in job 2 Spearman uses Slash more then stab is this true?
A: Well, there is a theory about it. The Slashing animation has 3 kinds, while Stabbing has 2 animations. So, in theory, it’s 60% of slashing, and 40% of stabbing
17. Is booster important?
A. Very important; it speeds up your speed by 1 speed faster.
18. Why should spearmen put the last points after hyper body on iron body...why don’t they just max iron wall...after all iron wall gives magic defence too?
A. After hyper body, you basically have your essential skills, putting the extra on iron body helps a bit, iron wall is okay as well, but lets say that if you have iron wall maxed and iron body maxed, iron body will reduce about 20 physical damage, while iron wall reduces about 10 physical and 10 magic damage, which I think 20 physical damage reduction is more useful because alot of monsters mainly do physical damage.
19. How much acc do you need to hit Crimson Balrog?
A. About 150
