Fire and poison

The choice between being a pure/unpure poison wizard revolves around two main factors. One.. Fire Arrow.. Two.. Poison breath... I will summarise their importances in the following chapter...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The basic idea of poison

Poison does not involve one hit KO's and super high damage like fire arrow. It kills on a totally different plain from the other spells. Instead of base damaging a monster, it does BOTH that AND damage it per second through poison. Poison may in the early levels seem weak or ineffective. However in the higher levels the user will begin to see that poison is a highly effective spell to take down high leveled monsters. While other mages may find it time/hp/mana consuming to kill monsters such as werewolves, the poison wizard can jus poison the werewolf once, and hang on a rope or ladder to avoid damage and let the poison kick in. Poison also livens up the whole maple experience with cool animation. So if you think the above sounds interesting.. go for poison..

If you are the type who goes for monotonous killing and extremly high one hit spell atacks, pure poison is probably not for you.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fire arrow

==Read this section only if you are planning to fuse poison with fire arrow==

Poison as a single spell is formidable in itself. However, It may be tough to level up around the lower levels. Wizards who are not prepared to forsake valuable time to level up should go for the impure poison wizard. Which makes use of both poison and Fire arrow. Fire arrow is the strongest wizard attack in victoria island and is highly effective against water based/ice based/wood based monsters. Together with the per second damage by poison, Fire arrow can take down high leveled monsters easily and quickly.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Factors to take into concern while you are considering being a poison wizard.

Why choose to be a poison wizard?

-Poison is a unique spell that gives you the ability to deal massive accumilated -damage to enemy monsters without touching them and at the same time throw in spell attacks. This is unlike fire or ice which requires you to continuosly press the "Attack button" and attack only one monster at a time.

-Poison enables you to poison a monster, leave it to rot and go on to attack other monsters.

-Enables the user to save on mana and hp. ( Eg. Instead of getting owned by werewolf damage and having to waste money on pots, the user can simply hang on a rope and let the werewolf rot.)

-Will be a highly effective skill in higher levels and osyria.

What are the pros/cons of being a poison wizard??

Pros

- Ability to damage monsters without touching them.

-Reasonably high spell damage. Poison deals base damage before actually poisoning the enemy. This damage is not to be taken lightly as it is @ 70 spell attack when maxed. Though other spells like fire arrow may have damage numbering in the thousands, we canot forget that poison also deals damage per second after the first hit.

-With maxed poison, you will be able to inflict lethal damage on monsters every second. This can prove effective in killing higher leveled monsters.

-The 3rd job advancement skill, Poison mist enables you to poison monsters around you within a certain radius. This is highly effective as you will be able to kill in the masses and gain xp quickly.

Cons

-poison appears to be weak around the early stages.

-Poison is totally useless against poison mushrooms..However this is not a problem.. simple magic claw it..

-Certain monsters like the taurospear canot be damaged by poison. This however is only a minority and the poison breath still deals its base damage to poison resistant monsters.

Why go impure instead of full poison????

If poison itself can do massive damage after a few seconds, why not throw in some fire arrows to beef up the attack?? Fire arrow causes massive damage and fusing it with poison would Create a lethal and unstoppable spell attack...Poisonous fire!.. =/..

Pros

-All the pros that come with poison.

-Level up fast

-Do massive combo attacks

-Take down high leveld monsters with more effectiveness.

-Inflict massive and unparalled damage.

Cons

-If u pump points on fire arrow, some other important skills might be forsaked.(Example: Mp eater)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Preparing to become a poison wizard: How your ability points should be

allocated

Magic bolt:1-Attack spell. The first spell attack you will ever pump stats on.

Mp recovery(MAX)-Vital to save on mana and mesos. Without it you'll be burning mana pots and money like crazy.

Max increase of mp every lvl up(MAX)-you need as much mana as u can get.. therefore.. pump this..(Note: Max this before anything else, or after 1 point on bolt.)

Magic claw(MAX)-Highly consistent and powerful spell attack.

Magic guard(MAX)-You will need this greatly as your hp is so low that strong monsters like tauros can wipe you out in one blow. Magic guard helps to reduce the damage to your hp significantly and transfers it to your mp.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Preparing to become a poison wizard: How your skill points should be allocated

Skill point distribution 1 : All points into INT, Forsakes LUK and the armours you may wear.

Skill point distrubution 2 : Sufficient LUK for armours, rest of points into INT.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How to become a poison wizard

Simple talk to the magician job instructor 3 maps to the left of Ellinia at the very top and complete her test.(Collect 30 dark marbles from curse eyes and horned mushrooms in a place she brings you to). After completing her test talk to hines and choose the" fire and poison" job and voila! you're a poison/fire wiz!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Essential poison wizard skills

Magic claw-You need this to level up your poison wizard around the early levels. Make sure it is maxed. Highly consistent and offensive spell that consumes 20 mana @ max level per shot.

Poison Breath-Spell that deals initial base damage, then deals poison damage per second.

Fire arrow-Strongest magic attack among 2nd job advancement mage skills.

May be coupled with poison brace to produce a poisoning, massive damage attack.

Slow-Goes well with Poison breath . This skill enables to user to slow down monsters around him( up to 6). Enabling him to poison them/teleport out.

Teleport-A useful skill to get out of nasty situations.(Being stuck in hordes of monsters.)

Meditation-Boosts magic attack of user and party members. The boost is not tremendous but does show promising results.

Mp eater- Absorbs Mp from monsters you attack. Has a certain percent rate and ammount of mp liched increases per level. Useful skill if you are low on mesos and canot afford many mana pots.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Skill point allocation

In order to create a decent and strong poison wizard you should know how to pump your ability points correctly. It is entirely up to you how you want to do it but i will provide a few suggestions.....

Note: Next to the abilities i have included reasons why you need to focus on them.

Suggestion 1

Poison(MAX IT )

Teleport(2)-Required for slow

Mp eater(1)-Mp eater is effective as it helps u regain precious mp. Pump just a little on this at the moment as you need to focus on teleport and slow.

Teleport(3)

Slow(15)-Slow will help you slow down monsters around you and give you ample time to poison them.

Mp eater(5)

Meditate(MAX)-Meditate enables you to increase your magic attack and thus eliminate monsters more efficiently.

slow(5)

mp eater(15)

Suggestion 2

Poison(MAX)

teleport(1)

mp eater(3)

meditation(20)

teleport(5)

slow(MAX)

Meditation(MAX)

Suggestion 3

Poison Brace(MAX)

Fire Arrow(MAX)

Meditation(MAX)

Slow(20)

Teleport(5)

MP Eater(12)

Suggestion 4

poison(MAX)

slow(20)

fire(28)

tele(20)

meditation(20)

MPeater (3)(as long as its not that useful in 3rd class)

Suggestion 5

Poison/meditation ( both MAX )

slow (20)

Teleport (max)

Mp eater (max)

The rest of the skill points are for you to decide....choose freely as it wont affect your poison performance much..

More suggestions to come in the near future

note: Poison wizards... please post your suggestions for skill allocation.. it would be much appreciated.. thanks

where to train

poison wizard training spots with reference to my stat allocation.

( See: Stat allocations )

Some of these training spots are only good if you have fire arrow therefore for pure poison wizards just ignore the training spots that require fire arrow.

Lvl 30-33

-Tree dungeon: Best place to train between levels 30-32 imo. The horny/green shroom spawn is excellent. Hornies give you 35 xp and only require one magic claw to be killed.

-Ant tunnel: Good place to train from levels 32 onwards due to the zombie mushroom spawn. They give good xp and drops too. If you cant 1 hit KO them however it may not be worth training on as they give 42 xp and hornies which will indefinitely die in 1 hit give 35 xp.

-Jr.Grupins: Best place to train for lvl 31's-33's as they give the most xp in the least number of hits using claw.

Lvl 33-35

-Ant tunnels: Lots of zombie mushrooms that you should be able to kill in 1 hit. They give good drops and 42 xp.

-Orbis Tower: Red Sentinels are the best xp you can get if your claw is able to 2 hit KO them. However if it isnt, stick to jr.grupins/leattys if you're in osyria.

-Icy path: Leattys are good if you hav just 1 point in fire arrow at this period of time. Claw them with 2 hits and finish them off with a fire arrow.

-Jr.Grupins: Similar to leattys in the number of hits required, give the same xp too.

-Land of wild boars: Might be a better choice compared to ant tunnel as the spawn is crazy. Boars give 42 xp and weight earrings are a common drop.

Lvl 35-39

-Evil eye caves: Good xp, requires 2-3 hits at levels 35-37 but moves more towards 2 hits to kill at the higher levels. Be warned that you're going to have to burn alot of pots training on evil eyes.

-Ant tunnels:

lvl 40-45( Special thanks to Nic01 for all the info )

-Golem temple: Slow, moderate hp, perfect kill for poison wizards. The xp they give is good and the drops are awesome. Blood chaos robe and ultimate medicine are some of them. You wont need to worry much on pots too, after poisoning them you can go hang on a rope.

-At level 42: its a good idea to train on kitties (Lots and lots of money), Dark Leatties (Earrings, and that's about it.), Star Pixies (nice but rare drops, lots and lots of traveling) or Jr. Wraiths (Best exp, best NPCd itams).

-Level 42-50: Wraiths are good monsters to hunt. If you get a nice atk Cromi on lv48 AND can one-claw Evil Eyes dependably, I recommend you move to Evil Eye Caves ASAP for fastest exp.

lvl 50-70

More info to come soon.
